Best Western Gardendale, hotel in Fultondale

Best Western Gardendale is situated in Gardendale, 18 km from BJCC and 20 km from Legion Field. The 3-star hotel has air-conditioned rooms with a private bathroom and free WiFi.

The breakfast was great - lots of choices. The price was affordable and the location was near many places to eat and shop. The bathroom was well stocked, and the soaps/shampoos were neatly stored in the shower area. The young lady was very pleasant who greeted us, and made a change to the room when we found it was the wrong style. They also had a small batch of cookies to share - nice touch!

The property is only a short 2 blocks from the interstate and there are plenty of restaurants nearby. The rooms have been updated and the property really isn't that old anyway. We have stayed here twice and our stay was pleasant both times. Our first stay was a bit challenging because I was a little under the weather and it was winter. We had a little trouble with the tub not draining very well but it wasn't a major issue. We reported it when we checked out.

The Breakfast Lady was a real sweet Lady, talked to her a lot about my Son who was having hip surgery. The housekeeping was able to accommodate us. We took our 100lb Boxer with that is our Son's therapy dog. I wish they would put out a dark color blanket or coverlet to put on the White bed linens though, so doggie prints wouldn't get on anything, but we managed. The room we stayed in was nice, but the compressor or what ever was running off and on all night kept us awake. We didn't ask for another room because they told us upon arriving that the room we had was the only one available that was Handicapped accessible. Plenty of places to choose from to eat at nearby and Dominoes pizza delivery as well as a few other delivery places . Also they need more grassy areas to walk the dog. WE picked up anything he deposited. but not much grass there

The staff members were wonderful and they went out of their way to make sure you were happy with your room. It was very clean and restaurant's all around the hotel and lots of shopping places. I give them out of 1-10, A BIG, #10.👍

This location as far as walking distance to shops was good...

This location as far as walking distance to shops was good but this hotel because of Alicia made this stay ridiculous. She charged me $111.00 which I did not approve or agree to for checking out on my checked out date before 2pm. I told her that I spoke with the FD agent the night before and it was approved for a courtesy late check out at 2pm. Maybe that agent misunderstood me or did not hear the 2pm but she surely had it in the computer per Alicia FD Manager that the request was in there. She went ahead and charged me a full day although I did check out. She was argumentative and told me that I must not travel often. She told me that she was nice to me before (because she let me sit in the eating area to talk to my friend). I think a hotel would be a little more courteous and understanding especially when I've communicated with them. Especially during a pandemic. I've emailed a complaint to the GM three times and no one has responded back to me but they deducted the funds out of my account that I am now having to dispute during a pandemic. Just horrible and unacceptable. Please do not stay here unless you like horrible customer service.

Days Inn Fultondale overcharged us by one night and hasn't refunded the money. The local Pizza Hut never showed up with our order despite being called several times and being told "it's on its way". And 1 of the 2 Lyft drivers we used in the area overcharged us for an extra ride on my debit card that we didn't take and had to contact the company to be reimbursed. Felt very taken advantage of because we weren't local to the area. We travel a lot and have never had such a horrible experience in our lives!

The staff Raine, was friendly and helpful with directions and recommendations concerning navigating the city. The room was comfortable with lots of room to relax on the sofa or lie in bed while watching television. I liked having a refrigerator and microwave in the room to reheat leftovers. The hotel was quiet and in a nice location away from a lot of traffic.

Location is great. Rooms could have been cleaner, pillows are awful, and the cleaner they use in the bathroom has a sour smell. Room was nice. Music started playing in the hallway and on the outside speakers starting at 4am, I called front desk thinking it was someone on our floor but in actuality it was the hotels music and it was very loud.

The room was quite spacious and clean along with the bathroom. The breakfast was okay the basics you would expect both hot and cold food, the cereals and yogurts were good. We were on route from Atlanta and used the hotel as a first night stop over excellent location for our needs as being close to the interstate

We pulled out the pull out couch and it had dirt and crap off over the mattress cover. I was worried it might be bed bugs. Ugh. Hubby went to front desk and they gave him a new cover and said the cleaning staff was gone for the day. We had to do it our self. That’s what over $200 gets you for the night
