The owner Paul was an excellent host, offering to help in any way needed, and provided a great breakfast. We became friends and will keep in touch beyond the B&B stay. We were able to walk to a different restaurant for each meal and the restaurant choices and quality were great.

Franklin is a quiet little town. It is a great little town to stop over and visit on your way to Cherokee or Gatlinburg. We were only there for one night, but plan to come back at another time. It seems to be a quiet little town. I look forward to exploring more of the town on my next visit to the manor!

The whole facility needs upgrading it was a horrible stay. I booked Comfort inn we got there it was Quality inn. The hotel smelled and the room smelled the toilet went out on us and the bed felt as if we were sleeping on a trampoline. This hotel needs a total makeover.

The town was full of character.
The town was full of character. The shops, the restaurants, the waterfalls, even the winding roads, were a joy to discover. What a hidden gem! I did not have time to enjoy all the waterfalls or hiking trails, or even the river sports, and I just missed the changing of the season. I would love to return once the leaves are turned, since the landscape is so beautiful.

I love the mountains and Franklin “is the mountains” of western North Carolina. Franklin is a small town, maybe not geared for the young people looking for lots of things to do but for folks looking to slow down a little it’s great. There’s great local shops and restaurants, sometimes you have to work a little to find them. Calasaja River Gorge is an amazing drive up to Highlands where the shopping is also amazing. A beautiful day trip for anyone.

We love Franklin... its a great area for chasing Waterfalls and enjoying Nature. Personally, we like to hike and explore the area in our Jeep, but some of our friends like to shop in Highlands or Gamble in Cherokee so Franklin is just a Great centerpoint for us to meet up .
The area has some Cute boutiques and Antiques shops, if that's your thing...But there are several Ingles and a Burkes Outlet for items you might realize you forgot for your trip
Every local restaurant we have tried has been Great...
We seem to eat at El Charro more than others because they are open late and the atmosphere and food are Good.
Our biggest complaint of that area, or anywhere in a 50 mile range, is finding a Restaurant open after dark. Can't blame it on Covid or time of year, its always like this.
The hotel appeared new and is very clean. We had a fast, friendly and easy check in. Our room was outfitted with everything we could want, a comfy bed, mini ‘fridge, microwave, writing desk, television and Neutrogena bath amenities. Our room was quiet and the temperature easily controlled.
Breakfast was from 6-10 am and contained many choices including healthy and otherwise.
I would return without a doubt when in Franklin NC.
Motel is older but has a great location being in downtown Franklin. It didn't serve coffee or breakfast but there was a nice restaurant about 1/2 block away that is open early. There is also a bakery almost next door. My room was at the back end of the motel and it was very quiet which was nice. A lot of hikers stay at this hotel so you will see people but few cars. The hotel room was very clean.
The home was located in a beautiful rural area but yet close to town. Great bedroom and bathroom layout for 2 couples that allowed privacy. Beds were comfortable and linens were soft. Kitchen was well equipped. The basement rec room was awesome with a high quality pool table and sectional sofa to relax on. Outside the home had a large deck that overlooks the trees.
The owner, Kate, goes above and beyond to make guests feel welcome. The whole house and grounds are very charming and comfortable. Kate puts a lot of care into the property and it shows.
I stayed for a work trip and compared the cost with others that stayed at local hotels. McTernan was less expensive and undoubtedly nicer!
Beautifully clean and kept rooms, incredibly kind and informative management, and I loved the idea of a sundown bonfire (though we didn't get to enjoy that ourselves). Pool looked great too! The location is perfect nestled between Franklin and a bit further down the road one of my favorite state parks, Tallulah Gorge.
No breakfast but that was not the problem. The web site stated the property was a 3 star but was at best was a 1 1/2. The only reason we stayed was we were tired and Franklin didn’t offer much in the way of accommodations. The manager was, however, a nice guy and was really trying to improve the facility.
This is such a cute, well kept hotel. The office staff was very helpful and friendly. We enjoyed sitting by the fire pit in the evening and visiting with other guest. Great location for us. We were getting on the Blue Ridge parkway the next day. We will definitely stay there on our next trip to NC.
Our room was very small but very clean and the bed very comfortable. We were in Franklin NC to attend a concert at the Smoky Mountain Music Center and we could easily walk to our concert from the motel. We also walked to a near by restaurant from the motel. What we liked best was the location.
Very friendly staff, very clean and comfortable and perfectly quiet for a good nights sleep. Will certainly choose them over one of the big chain hotel/motels if in that area in the future. A++
This cabin was cozy , well furnished and it was relaxing to be in the wooded area. The fire pit was an added bonus and added to the experience. At dusk we spotted a herd of deer in the area.
Everything was great including the location. The staff was outstanding and I will use in the future. If you are visiting Franklin you should stay at this motel.
