This hotel was very nice and comfortable, and the staff were absolutely amazing. We accidentally left two coats in our room and they shipped them back to us free of charge! Cannot say enough good things about this hotel and staff

I travel here frequently and enjoy the people, food and history of not only Effingham but the surrounding areas. You can can travel 30-40 minutes in any direction and experience history that you may not have known even existed. It is easy to get around and close to major highways for quick access to other areas to explore.

I wanted to pay with cash at the property and when I tried, I learned it would be an additional $200. I did not see that listed anywhere on the website and I think that is an important bit of information. Deposits are listed for credit cards why not cash payments also.

Is a great town!!
Is a great town!! I liked golden corral and Walmart which was close to the best western. My only bad experience was the pictures of best western did not match the inside of the hotel. Otherwise I wish I could have stayed and explored more!!

FRIENDLY FOLK!
FRIENDLY FOLK!
We drove around the neighborhood, and went to Mass at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. Everything was neat as a pin, we would move to Effingham in a minute if we had the opportunity.
Great town for a meal break or a night. Good gas prices (best we could find in the region) so that's a good reason to stop, too. Easy access to get back on the highway.

We met family half way and it happened to be Effingham.
We met family half way and it happened to be Effingham. We went to Tuscan Hills Winery. It was fun. Tasted some wine and had cheeses and crackers to go with it. We will definitely meet up in Effingham again.
Long drive to get to a family funeral and I needed a place to stop for the night. This hotel was great. The best was extremely comfortable, extra pillows and blankets.... the heater worked in the room and it was nice and cozy. The lady working the front desk the night I checked in was an absolute sweetheart. I didn't wake up in time for breakfast, so I can't comment on that - but I slept great!
Location was convenient and it was nice to have a restaurant attached to the hotel. The pool looked lovely, although we did not swim. Rooms were a bit dated, but clean - and the beds were very comfortable. I loved their all day coffee service in the lobby (at least, it seemed like it was available all day!)
Arrived late but luckily the restaurant was still open. The server at the restaurant was excellent, good service and very friendly. Staff at the front desk were also very helpful. Hotel lobby and rooms were clean and comfortable.
Good bedding
Hotel was pretty old. Some very bad ceiling patching, painting, trim work. A.c. had towels shoved in it. Looks like it was for keeping bugs out or something. A.c. constant on and off was pretty loud. But kind of what I expected.
Priceline and this hotel were horrible! Hot tub doesn’t work, door was open upon arrival, asked for extra pillows and was told it was an up charge of $10 per pillow. Priceline won’t help and instead causes more frustration!!!
The hotel was very accommodating with our two cats! The staff were cat people and they were very helpful. They were very responsive when we called ahead with questions and also when we had to move our booking by one night.
The rooms were clean and had the best hotel bed Ive slept in and we travel a-lot. Also the breakfast was decent. Location was pretty good and close to restaurants. The staff was kind and it was generally very quiet.
I booked this hotel because it was conveniently located to the venue that our event was being held. I was glad that it was met all of our expectations for cleanliness.
