Howard Johnson's was a great place to stay, particularly if you are looking for something pretty basic, and easily accessible to a first floor room. Loved backing up right in front of our room and unpacking. It was quiet- the room was clean and the bed comfortable. We were just passing through, did not explore any of the local eatery or sight-seeing options.

I would highly recommend searching for another motel...there are several at this exit.

Disliked · Room 117 (handicapped) had only one accessible electrical outlet that was in the bathroom-No place to recharge phones, tablets, alarm clock or hearing aids. It was located beside the shower which I thought was a safety hazard. Daylight shows under room door so critters could crawl in if they wanted to.
Breakfast was publicized as 6-9. At 7:45 breakfast bar was completely exhausted. I asked clerk when breakfast would be ready. He told me breakfast was open, just needed to replace some items. Ever so slowly, he proceeded to use the microwave in the breakfast area to make eggs & sausage (both frozen), denying guests any microwave to use. Next, he proceeded to leave because his shift was over. But he's carrying a Styrofoam takeout plate to his car with his breakfast & proceeded to eat in plain view of everyone while guests are still waiting for breakfast to be ready. While we are still waiting, the replacement clerk arrives along with another young employee. Both immediately sit down behind the counter & do nothing to remedy the situation. Instead they just sit there fat, dumb & happy staring out the front window. After waiting about 20 minutes, the eggs & sausage links I finally got were still frozen in the middle. I had to use paper saucers because there were still no paper plates available. There was never any bread to make toast. About 8 or 9 tables in breakfast area had not been wiped down after previous guests had left.

Our visit was a quick stop on our way through to Orlando. Did not have time to see Dalton as it was night time, Christmas Eve. The Waffle House near our hotel was good. Staff was friendly and helpful.

The room had a body odor smell. I was bite by fleas and still itching. The first room was upgraded due to the lock the 2nd room had a smell and fleas. I mentioned it to the person at the desk and they didn't offer to change me. I left a day early, couldn't deal with the problems.

Overall property is in good condition and well maintained. However, under the excuse “ because of Covid”, the pool was closed and covered up, and the room was not serviced on a daily basis. I sta yed four night, and towels were exchanged and trash removed once. By the staff. I had to hunt down clean towels otherwise. I did get a discounted room for this inconvenience either.

The stool in our room had to be held down to flush and then we had to push the flap down so it would fill up for the next flush.
When we went down in the morning for breakfast all the chairs were still on the tables. The coffee was tepid.
the breakfast good in what was served, no protein bacon or other on the weekend , no fruit either fresh or cut up like melons grapes nor whole fruit . We missed the availability of it . our bed was on the soft side to old maybe and it moved around very easily even when sitting down or getting in it . if you bumped or leaned on it the whole bed slid or moved We still like your hotel and would like to see a little lower costs per nights of stay especially on non holiday dates your staff is helpful polite and enjoyable thank you
My husband and kids arrived at the hotel around 8:30pm. We had a reservation for single room with two double beds and when we checked in, the receptionist told us they were out of double bed rooms. They took it upon themselves to provide us with two king suites that connected.
I have been to plenty of hotels and never had service quite like that! The staff was very friendly and check-in/out was a breeze.

The hotel was perfect for our needs. We like that breakfast was provided. It was similar to other hotel breakfasts: cereal, waffles, yogurt and such. We liked that the room had a separate living room and was near several things. It is also convenient to Chattanooga.
Breakfast was perfect; done properly and good selection and variety. The location was great; easy to find and the town the hotel is located in is not too busy. The hotel seems to have just gone through a refurbish, so, everthing seemed clean and new.
Very clean room. The shower actually was a good shower, very clean and had water pressure! No pets and no smoking, which I prefer. Super quiet, which is essential. I go up and down I-75 every summer, and I will definitely stop at this hotel again.
Nothing. We didn't eat breakfast there because of the filthyness of our room and the hotel in general. Just wanted to shower and get out of there this morning. The 2 roaches we found in our room didn't help matters.
The woman at the front desk was very nice, the hotel was close to the interstate and easy to find. It was close to restaurants. I stayed in the back building and it was quiet, no road noise or other guests.
