This resort is listed as "pet friendly" but only has two rooms. While this listing will come up as "pet friendly" when you do a search, don't assume that you will get one of the two available "pet friendly" rooms. I have used this search filter before and not had this problem. Why even bother to have two "pet-friendly" rooms at all? The resort is on a steep hill and there's not a lot of space. To make matters worse, the resort rents out a fleet of pontoon boats and there are large groups coming and going on a regular basis. It seemed to me that the manager and staff were not very focused on the motel operation as they were spending all of their time on boat bookings and customer service for the pontoon renters. I had to cancel my reservation as I couldn't get one of the "pet friendly" rooms so I lost one-night's fee and had a very negative exchange with the manager, who has terrible customer service skills. I absolutely don't recommend this resort.
The location of the boathouse is superb, right on top of Lake George, in a quiet corner near the Sagamore Hotel in Bolton Landing. The building is gorgeous, the owners a total delight, and every single detail that you can ever think you might want in a stay has been thought of, and provided. The breakfasts served were very special and absolutely delicious. It was heavenly from start to end.
