Avila La Fonda is a true gem on the West Coast.
Avila La Fonda is a true gem on the West Coast. From the moment we arrived to the moment we reluctantly checked out, we were enveloped in a haven of comfort and warm hospitality.
The accommodations at Avila La Fonda were fabulous. Our suite was beautifully decorated and the complimentary wine and delicious homemade pie created an inviting and cozy atmosphere that made it difficult to leave.
I wholeheartedly recommend this lovely hotel to anyone seeking a memorable and rejuvenating getaway. We only planned for one overnight stay in our 3 week road trip but in hindsight we'd plan to stay longer next time!

Avila Beach is a beautiful, relaxing town full of lovely architecture and flowers. The beach itself was clean and not overly crowded. There were several excellent dining choices near my hotel. I will be back next year!
The whole atmosphere of this location was so wonderful! It was like being in a resort or resort town with Avila beach being so close. Having the dog beach so close by too was fantastic! My dog had the vacation she deserves! The cottage had a wonderful view and great outdoor space. Spacious and clean! Glamping at its finest! I can’t wait to go back!
It’s hard for o find an hotel nowadays that doesn’t charge you for every little thing. Here is quite the opposite. Breakfast was not included but they gave us one little basic breakfast basket anyways. So, it’s sweet when you see a business that’s not all about money! This is one is really an exception! We’ll be returning for sure!
The location near Avila Beach and San Luis Bay was picturesque and close to SLO airport. The pool was nice and everything was clean. The bed was comfortable. The room was a nice size and the bathroom and kitchen were nice although, we didn't stay long enough to make use of the kitchen other than the refrigerator and coffee machine.
Loved the location just on Avila beach! The venue itself is very cute and authentic and the small beach town Avila is adorable. Staff is friendly and kind. Clean room and a comfy bed! Owners offered free local pie and ice cream in the evening. Great breakfast view from the roof terrace and tasty coffee.
I loved my room with private jacuzzi tub overlooking the creek and walking path outside. The bathroom was clean and spacious. There was a coffee and tea cart available for guests which was a plus. The club located next to the hotel has a sauna that guests are able to enjoy as well
It feels like a European hotel...Quirkey ...but many free amenities. Bikes, pie and ice cream at night. Delicious free quiche cappuccino croissants breakfast on an ocean view terrace included. I think each room is decorated differently. Great location. Would return
Location of San Luis Bay Inn is the best. Good view of Avila Beach & pier from balcony. Staff is always friendly & helpful as much as they can be. Two-room lockout mostly well appointed. Outdoor seating always pleasant. Plenty of luggage carts at check-in/out
Location is right in the middle of Avila Beach and right across from the beach. Easy to walk to different restaurants and stores. Quiet in the evening. Great bartenders at the Custom House and wonderful meals at Blue Moon. Look froward to going back.
Well-equipped, comfortable beds, plenty of space for two couples staying for the weekend! The view from the roof was a nice touch and everything in Avila beach is walking distance. We had plenty of towels and kitchen supplies too.
We were in Avila for the Blues Festival, and the venue was across the street from the hotel. This was perfect for us. Having a beach front room with patio was a great pick. The room was spacious with a great layout.
Excellent location, not overly crowded beach, and very close to biking and hiking trails. Great restaurants in walking distance and a short drive to Pismo downtown and the sand dunes. Will definitely be returning.
We always have a wonderful time, between playing pickle ball and going in the hot tub at the resort next door to riding bikes to Avila Beach on the Bob Jones Trail. It’s so fun and freeing to our souls!
Avila Beach is a sleepy little beach town. No crowds and plenty of beach. The property is centrally located and offers private patios as well as public areas for relaxing. A perfect place to wind down.
the hotel is charming and cozy.
On our first night we had a very big room with an issue with the noise of the bathroom.
