I love Aransas Pass.
I love Aransas Pass. Lots of good restaurants, and some world class fishing guides. Slowride Guide Service to name one! Getting around AP is easy, It's still the sleepy Texas costal town that I remember. However, that seems to be changing as more and more people discover this little Gem.

Aransas Pass is a great little Texas Coastal town with nice people and all the amenities one needs. HEB and WalMart in town as well as many different types of eateries. Also, there are many other great places to visit all within 20-30 minutes of AP as well whether you drive towards Rockport or Portland/Corpus Christi.
Conn Brown Harbor has more than enough room for truck and trailer parking after boat launching, although the docks do get crowded as the guides seem to just sit and take up space. (Not sure if this is just during the week when it's not super busy, or on the weekends also).
Roy's Tackle is a must in Corpus (30 minutes) and TackleTown in Rockport is another must (20 minutes) for any and all fishermen!
If you want to eat seafood in the area, make sure you go out before you get super hungry, folks are traveling in large numbers right now and wait times are extremely long to get tables. 1-1.5hrs minimum everywhere that are worth going! I HIGHLY recommend Paradise Key (Great food and Excellent service) and Crab-N (OUTSTANDING food and very inexperienced service providers, but polite and trying hard).
The only negative I had was DO NOT stay at the Super 8 Hotel, they charged my credit card twice and were very rude and I'm still fighting with them 3 days after returning home trying to get a refund between them and my bank! But, that is not a reflection on Aransas Pass, just that one business.

Hometown, where I grew up.
Hometown, where I grew up. Always a pleasure to go back, may move back permanently or may just visit more. Lots of beautiful beaches and water and some really great food. Plus tons of friendly people. Look up my friend Hector Rios at Coastal Kayaks, take a kayak tour.
Located right on the main road out to Port Aransas and still convenient to stores in Aransas Pass. Room was adequately but simply appointed with clean hard floors and adequate air conditioning to keep it cool on the hot days. They did have a small coffee maker with enough to make two cups of coffee in the room. I travel with an electric kettle so it was also nice to have a spot to put that next to the supplied coffee maker.
The rooms had a room in between them but they were close. I felt safe and since my granddaughter was with us that was extremely important. The rooms were well stocked with towels. The lighting was good enough to read. We ask for and got extra coffee for the stay.
The location of the hotel , the room itself was very warming and smelt good, the bed was incredibly comfortable and the extra room space was a nice touch. Most definitely going to make a LOT more trips to the OYO Hotel in Aransas Pass!
Owner is very nice and helpful. Everything has been updated since hurricane and is clean and well maintained. Great budget motel. It is block away from the boat ramp, also a few blocks from the bridge to port A.
It was great location, close to anything you could need. Close to ferry to go to port A. Super clean and comfy beds. Great space. AC works amazing, you'll forget about the heat. Only one bedroom comes with TV.
