One of Eastern Europe’s oldest cities and the Ukrainian capital, Kiev is a hospitable city with plenty to offer: from its historical heritage to inspiring architecture and modern commerce centres. So jump on Kiev’s impressive metro and enjoy the ride!
The city features many places of worship with golden-domed and cave monasteries, orthodox churches and cathedrals. The most famous ones include the Kiev Pechersk Lavra, one of Ukraine’s most important monasteries and founded in 1077 by St Antoniy. The other is St Sophia’s Cathedral housing the world’s largest collection of frescoes and mosaics from the 11th century onwards.
Kiev is not only known for its sacred buildings; it is also very rich in the people’s history. Over 40 different museums are visited by millions of guests every year. It includes the Museum of the Great Patriotic War with a stunning, more than 100 metres high monument of Mother Motherland.
After a day of sightseeing, make sure you visit local bars and restaurants for a selection of Ukrainian cuisine: the delicious Borscht, pancake-like Mlyntsi or the unique Kvas, which is a brewed bread drink.
Whether you’re flying to Boryspil International or Zhulyany airports, the centre of Kiev is just a short ride away. With over 280 properties on offer, Booking.com has a selection of apartments and hotels near the airport and in the centre.
It's not easy to write a review of a city when there's a...
It's not easy to write a review of a city when there's a terrible war going on. When you hear the air-raid sirens actually every night, or day. When you see the Ukrainian air defense at work. When you look into the eyes of scared people in the air-raid shelter deep underground. When yourself are under attack and actually never really safe. When you see the photographs of the fallen Heroes in the defense of their country all around, and people who obviously lost their loved ones, and suffer. With this impression, it's impossible to make recommendations.
However, Kyiv is an extremely beautiful, clean city with great public transportation. Ukrainians are extraordinary people, very friendly with an outstanding hospitality. Ukrainian cuisine is delicious. And there is so very very much to see. The possibly best recommendation is given by the Kyiv Tourist Information Center: "Kyiv is waiting for you after the victory!" And for those who are not afraid, go now and show your solidarity and support.

Love the city, people are incredible, and there are many surprises that awaits you. It is a very walkable city, and prices are quite reasonable. Ukrainians are always happy to see foreigners, and many will go out of their way to help you around.

Kyiv is simply the best city in the world.
Kyiv is simply the best city in the world. People are great, the landscape is fantastic, with everything from the old city to beaches by the Dnipro to hills and beautiful parks everywhere. You never have to go far to find a cosy café or a quiet nook to spend a pleasant hour. And it is the home of some of the bravest people in the planet.

Kyiv is a very nice city for anyone to visit, even during war time. Some difficulties to getting there since no airport now but when in Kyiv, the city has everything. Excellent walks in the parks and huge amount of restaurants and bars. Shops are everywhere and nothing is missing. Cultural events still ongoing during war but seek shelter when the air alarm is sounding. Remember that Ukraine is invaded by Ruzzians so there are restrictions in late stay in evening and always carry your passport with you. Ukrainian people are very friendly and most of them speak good english too.

Kyiv is definitely a city worth visiting.
Kyiv is definitely a city worth visiting. It is full of life, with numerous sightseeing spots, museums, bars, restaurants, and a vibrant nightlife. Despite the ongoing war, I enjoyed my time in the city during the summer. It has a unique vibe and a particular charm, complemented by the generally lovely people.
However, I advise future travelers to visit at their own risk. I traveled right after the electrical infrastructure was hit and when the "energy" timetable was in effect. Some hotels might have generators, but I stayed in an apartment, and it was challenging to adjust. Nonetheless, it was part of the experience. Additionally, the curfew (starting at midnight) is still in full effect, which shortens the evenings when going out—another factor to bear in mind.
Given the current war, it is impossible to predict what will happen. I was in Kyiv from June 21 to July 6, and nothing severe occurred in the capital during that time. However, other parts of the country were attacked and suffered damages. After the events of July 8, I strongly advise anyone traveling in the near future to be cautious, join a Telegram channel for updates, and stay safe. Nonetheless, I recommend Kyiv to solo or group travelers.

I loved how advanced and beautiful the city is… very nice 5 stars eating plačeš and many fun plačeš too.. loved how affordable transport was using metro and buses and in general even with the war the city is still intact and safe. People exaggerate Kyiv to be a war zone but it really isn’t . Life is going on just fine 😍

The hotel for the moment is full of ukrainians. Lots of comunication. Also, its in the cellar - a safe stay during the war. Everyone is very friendly. Its safe - I could leave my vallet on my bed and my pc in the loby. It is very, very clean and tidy. As a bonus I got my loundry done for free. And the location is the best!
Glory to Ukraine!
The hotel and its staff are doing a fantastic job during a very difficult time in Ukraine, everyone went out of their way to make sure your stay was as normal as could be expected during this period, special mention to Sergey the concierge for all his help and the houskeeping crew who left me tons of water and soaps.
My stay at Ukraine Hotel was awesome. It's proximity to the metro system and the shops at the center made my stay easier to navigate. The view offered from the upper floors is amazing. Definitely a view worth enjoying. The ATM on the first floor provides competitive rates.
The place is quite but the very city center.
Comfortable new apartment with bath, not just shower.
Quite big bathroom.
Everything you need for kitchen stuff.
Really easy to get with the door codes everywhere.
