Close to the centre and shops but not too close so you could hear the noise, almost like you lived in the city but got to sleep in the countryside, the Staff were very friendly and polite and helpful with information about the area and transport questions.

Great place to stay in the heart of the city. Staff are excellent and very attentive.
Weekends busier so more of a food selection for breakfast.
Rooms are dated but they're clean and big enough for a family.

Very clean, well furnished villas with a small outside porch for food preparation and drying clothes. felt it was a safe area.
The manager was friendly and informative
Lots of shops, clean food stalls and street restaurants very close
Best of all we got dropped at the far entrance to the UNESCO Kampaeng Phet historical Park, wandered south through the constructions/ruins to the main road, across to the second park then walked all the way back over the bridge to Bunraksa. Hot but so rewarding.

Location was awesome! So lovely watching the sun go down over the river and waking up to a beautiful view. Homely older house with beautiful wooden interior (we stayed in the riverside front house with 2 rooms and shares bathroom). Bed was comfortable and everything was clean and homely. Thought it was better in real life than the photos. So glad we found it. Would definitely stay again

Nice Provincial town with good value food options.
Nice Provincial town with good value food options. I was there to visit the historical park. It's not so impressive as other historical parks in Thailand but is was worth the days trip, although it is 6 hours each way from Bangkok by bus.

Interesting history.
Interesting history. Now its seems mainly a farming city with lovely surrounding farms and a nice river running through town. There is a large University in town. Plenty of good food, and some busy and fun pubs at night.

Just passing through.
Just passing through. Stopped at the historical park and enjoyed a brief time there. We stopped earlier at sukhotai and rode around on bikes. This park would be an even more pleasant ride. Very few visitors, lots of shade.

This was an overnight stop on a long journey so I didn't plan much in the way of tourism. However I visited the historical park, that was very interesting, and the nearby hot springs. Overall it was very quiet there; the tourist industry hasn't yet recovered from the COVID shutdown so some of the restaurants and hotels are still not open.

Kamphang Phet is steeped in history as one of the ancient border fortifications against Burmese invasion. The historic park was unfortunately closed due to Covid as was the museum but there are plenty of ruins scattered around the town especially along the old city wall. The main temple on the opposite side of the river is stunning.
It’s a low rise , small town by Thai standards with lots of good eateries especially along the river ( cross to the other side). People are friendly but not intrusive. This is a favourite weekend destination for Thais from all over the country.

For a stop-over town between Hua Hin and Chiang Mai,...
For a stop-over town between Hua Hin and Chiang Mai, Kamphaeng Phet turn out to be a pleasant surprise. For e.g. there is a Unesco heritage site (Historical Park), nice authentic Thai restaurant by the riverside (Baan Rim Nam River-View restaurant), local food fairs. We were on a motorcycle tour, so getting around was not a problem for us.

The bed was very comfortable, and since it is a ways out of town and right on the river, it was nice and quiet. Nice garden to sit in provided you don't go during this season, when it is way too hot to do anything outdoors. The owners/staff were friendly and accommodating. Good value for money though I've stayed at much nicer places in the country for the same price. If you're just looking for a place to rest your head near Kamphaeng Phet on your way up- or down-country, it's fine. There's parking and WiFi.
