Everything in Martin is so clean.
Everything in Martin is so clean. The loos are amazing compared to those in the UK. In the shopping centre there is a soft play area, for small chidren, and the adults can really relax with a coffee whilst being able to keep a close eye on them.
There is so much space. We visited a village where old houses have been moved to or reconstructed. It was really interesting and there was lots of space for the children to run around, as well as a cafe.
People were friendly and helpful, including in all the cafes and restaurants we visited. The local food is all fantastic, as is the goulash in a Czech restaurant we visited in the town centre.
All the young people appear to speak English.

Town centre very pedestrian friendly.
Town centre very pedestrian friendly. Food and coffee very good where we tried them. Sadly could not visit Museum of Martin Benka as it was closed and I understand expecting to be completely refurbished. But a trip to Strecno castle was worth every penny. I would recommend the visit to everyone.

The Slovak Village Museum was great.
The Slovak Village Museum was great. Martin was lacking in atmosphere. That said, it does appear like they are really putting in a lot of effort to spruce up the town center. It was also raining throughout our stay, so that might have impacted our perceptions.
There are playgrounds on every corner in Martin and there are about 7 playgrounds in 5 minutes walk to the accommodation. The Open-air Museum is very-very close too, and Martin is a kind little town. It's a good place for dog-walking and there are not a lot of cars, so it's safe with children as well.
The gentleman from the staff was very kind and helpful, we were relaxed when he was there.
Very comfortable hotel located in town center with large private parking lot next to it. Smaller, but very well equipped and maintained wellness. Access to wellness is not included in standard rate, but extra charge is real bargain.
Pro tip: Ask for a room at the top floor to enjoy stunning view of surrounding mountain ranges - High/Small Fatras.
Despite the fact that we arrived late and booked at last minute, they welcomed us kindly and were very helpful. The whole building and room was very clean and beautiful. The shower/bathroom is amazing, it is on a same level (or even better) as expensive hotels. The restaurant is exceptionally well designed. The breakfast was really good.
- Central location, short walk from the central square (though a bit longer walk from the train/bus station), yet still quiet.
- Good standard of the room, clean.
- Very helpful staff.
- I appreciated that alongside a large pillow there was also a smaller thin one - kind I prefer to sleep on and struggle to find in many places.
Great communication from the host regarding self check in. Ideally located close to the main pedestrian area of Martin so easy to get to shops, cafes, restaurants as well as public transport options. Very comfortable and peaceful property in a nice part of town.
During our stay in Martin, the apartment provided a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. Our host was incredibly flexible, always accommodating our needs with a helpful demeanor. He went above and beyond to ensure our comfort, making our stay memorable and enjoyable.
Everything is perfect - we have stayed here several times and we are happy with this:) We enjoyed our time in Martin, also thanks to our stay in the apartments. We were pleasantly surprised by the view from the balcony of the fountain in the garden:))
Absolutely amazing place and great hosts! The rooms and toilet are super clean, the kitchen is better equipped than in my own house :)
However, the outside area is the best part, beautiful horses, super cute dogs and the view on the mountains.
Apartment was very clean.. All basic necessities were available.. The owner is super helpful and very friendly.. 10/10 would recommend and will stay there again next time I'm in Martin. Fantastic place.
Everything. All of the staff is great. The place is beautiful. I am sad we didn't stay long enough next time we LL stay a lot longer. Thank you for your hospitality and amazing breakfast
Beautiful location, close to the river. Nice, chilling sound of water and birds. Good room, clean and pretty.
Dining room. Very kind owner, helpful. Great place to stay and come back.
Such a great property in town of my paternal grandparents. We were able to eat delicious meals at 'sister' restaurant down the street. Style and decor of place. Precious owner.
