Cozy and clean cottage with everything we needed. A nice little stream pourls some meters from the house which has a soothing effect on you. Its quiet and also if you like to gaze at the stars at night, this is a good spot.
The nice hosts got roosters, hens & sheeps which adds alot to the countryside atmosphere.

Lovely Swedish house in the woods, peace and quiet place for slow-life holidays. We had a great white christmas stay for our family of 5. A little surprice with the water quality in the tap, would be great to know to buy drinking water in advance. The house has everything you need and more. The host was responsive and very helpful, we got all extras we asked for and very flexible with check-in/check out.

Very rural and quiet area, nice small town, lovely villages around. Good access, excellent roads. Commuter rail running frequently from Karlstad. A lot of moose and deer in the deep forests around. Try the small forest gravel roads (mostly very good) to discover them but be aware on main roads as well. "Älgs" are very big, we saw a lot beside roads (especially near Norwegian borders). A lot of lakes with swimming possibilities in summer, signed beaches. Got in Oktober suddenly the first snow after warm days. Autumn is very beautiful. It is an area for nature lovers, nothing for party scene, even you find some restaurants and shopping centers. Keep the speed limit (always signed) in mind, a lot of automatic speed cameras - high fines.

Torsby has everything you need unless you are a party animal...
Torsby has everything you need unless you are a party animal then maybe it's not for you. Plenty of food options , places for a beer and supermarkets. Also a mix of clothes stores and 2and hand shops.
The Sahlström farm (Sahlströmsgården) is a place with an artistic backdrop, it is the place where 3 sibling artists grew up (Anna, Ida and Bror Sahlström) in the early 1900s. The barn is converted to a cozy restaurant and the hotel part is newly erected building but in traditional style. When I was there there, a painting course was ongoing and there is a gallery and plenty of art work. It is surrounded by cultivated fields and it overlooks a small lake where you can also swim.
we weren’t looking for a sport hotel we just stayed overnight but it was a great place, nice quiet location, great breakfast, really good, gust laundry (thank goodness!), comfortable. lost of space to park the bikes close to the room

The personnel was nice and very helpful. The town of Torsby was pretty close with shop etc. I liked the shared kitchen - it was well equipped and quite clean.
Perfect little place surrounded by beautiful scenery. Close to Torsby, not far from the E45, especially good if you are traveling thru. Going there again!
