This is quite an exceptional place to stay. There are a number of accommodation units around the courtyard and an attractive communal dining-area. Dinner is three courses and comes with a seemingly limitless amount of plum schnapps. The proprietress was very friendly. We had booked a double room but appear to have been 'upgraded' to stay in 'the house' (sleeps 4) by the entrance door and it was absolutely charming and cosy: very characterful but with a very modern bathroom. Opening the window onto the 'street' in the morning at sunrise and seeing the cows and goats coming out to graze on the verges was magical. In October the village is very quiet and the overnight stay was unforgettable. There is secure parking within the courtyard. We would happily return. Go while Viscri is unspoilt by tourism!

It's a unique place . You can't tell until you are inside ! Breakfast and dinner are homemade, the cheeses and the hams are from the surrounding area. Rooms are characteristics: they are a mix between saxon style and Scandinavian style . I loved it !
