Charming traditional decorations all around the house, very clean rooms (I loved how the linen and towels smell, fresh and soft). The staff is very friendly and welcoming. The location is very convenient, on our way to the Via Transilvanica trail. We had our bicycles with us, but the property has a few bicycles you can use for free. Also a big plus was the restaurant, considering the village is small and doesn’t have many options for having a meal. The breakfast is included in the room rate (a nice surprise for us) and includes a wide range of good quality products incl. local food. Large yard with amazing views where you can relax, while sitting on the terrace or playing table tennis.
Offering inner courtyard views, Casa de Vacanta FAMILY & FRIENDS is an accommodation located in Criţ, 12 km from Saschiz Fortified Church and 13 km from Viscri Fortified Church.

Anja is a very friendly host, and her house a perfect place for a relaxing stay and „home“ base to explore the surroundings, starting at the village’s superb fortified church!

Owner made considerable and laudable conservation efforts. Rooms have painted furniture and original items (e.g., dowry chests). Dinner tables are made from old oak beams. There is mostly good taste in renovation and extension choices. The place does not seem children friendly. Yet we had an infant with us and felt very welcome. Host is genuinely affable and amenable (to a point). I wonder why she draws the line where she does, but that is her prerogative. Some guests may find that absurd and/or unacceptable. Breakfast is included and otherwise generous. Upon request, she cooked for us. It was one of the best meals we had in the area! Yes, I am generally impressed both with the property and services.

It is a wonderful quiet cosy place. I slept very well on high quality mattresses, in a warm, spotless clean room after enjoying the most delicious meal prepared by Vio.

Wonderful place to use as a retreat for slow living and disconnecting. The whole property has been restored and looks absolutely beautiful. The rooms are spacious and comfy, the restaurant is just so cozy, and the village is exactly the quiet magical place you´d imagine. The food was fantastic and the owners lovely.

Everything in the right place, all outside areas clean. The room was clean, all fixtures were working, hot water instantly. Breakfast was rich and the open kitchen was clean too.

Crit is a pretty nice village to visit.
Crit is a pretty nice village to visit. The village is an UNESCO site, and they need to preserve the facades of the buildings just as they were originally, so that's nice to see, because it sort of feels like a trip back in time.
If you're looking for a really authentic experience, you should definitely visit it, along with the near by villages as well, like Viscri, Mesendorf, Cloasterf or Saschiz, all really nice, all really well preserved old villages.

Nice and quiet village.
Nice and quiet village. Good location to start exploring the area. Highly recommended for trekkers and cycling lovers and people who enjoy country side life.
While the atmosphere is pretty nice a bit more attention of the city hall to the village cleaning will be good.
Everybody talk about the impressive cycling path in the area, however you do not feel the impression that the locals are happy or even to promote them.
I had the meals on Casa Kraus. Overall good food and good service.

We found Crit (and Viscri) a little overpriced for what they offered and we think that more attention should be given by local authorities to making them really tourist-worthy. We had our kid’s plane stolen from the top of our car (where we forgot it)..
