We reserved a standard room and got a free upgrade. The room was spacious, bright, came with tea/coffee facilities, TV, shower and separate toilet. Very comfortable.
Apart from that we liked the swimming pool and the view from the breakfast room. The hotel offers many other amenities such as a very cozy lounge with pool table. The staff was very friendly and there were many exciting hiking trails within walking range. A very nice place.

Bedroom comfy. Nice view. Clean. Close to L60 bus stop. The staff helped to make some calls for me as I couldn't connect to the french telephone system. Close to the centre through a nice shortcut. Can use the main kitchen which is fully equipped.

I would recommend timing your stay correctly so as to avoid stormy roads on the 420 bend road to Cilaos.
I would also recommend you take a drone for drone photography; Cilaos is magnificent and a drone could help show that a bit better.
Good base for Cilaos cirque hiking. Typical small mountain hotel with its "old" charm. Nice view from balcony.
Free breakfast is bonus even it is only jam and butter (with juice, coffee, tea or cocoa), to have some cheese or ham would be nice, but for one night stay it was good enough and tasty with small piece of water melon.
This was in a great location, 5 mins from the main Cilaos Ville bus stop by walk where you can easily take the bus to numerous hikes. The bathrooms were clean enough and the bed was comfy. I never met the hosts but they knew enough English to help me check in by phone as I arrived after 6 pm and called them to let them know.
A cozy and very convenient base for our 4 days of hiking in Cilaos. The hotel is owned and managed by Thierry, a charming and knowledgeable host.who made our stay both enjoyable and memorable. Delightful accommodation and a delicious breakfast. If we ever return to Cilaos, Le Bois Rouge will be our first call.
Great trailer in the middle of the center of Cilaos, perfect for going around the town as well as a good place to start hiking. Very nice personnel that explained everything very well and were very welcoming. The trailer was a great deal for the money, with basic amenities, hot water and good wifi.
An amazing base for exploring Cilaos! Right in the heart of the village with everything you need within walking distance - including the start to many amazing trails. Great little terrace with our room and all the utensils we needed to prepare packed lunches for those days spent hiking! Thank you!
Wonderful hotel in ideal location for exploring the Cirque de Cilaos! Great views over the mountains from the balcony, extremely clean room, and very nice staff (one of them English-speaking). Impressive breakfast and safe parking for your car in the courtyard. Highly recommended.

Beautiful scenery, garden and lounging areas to enjoy the sun in the morning, while having everything you need in for a comfortable home stay. Small community outside of touristic Cilaos, more peaceful and authentic.
The guest house is located about 10 minutes walk from the center of Cilaos. The town is nice, but the journey by car is quite difficult, I recommend traveling during the day. The guesthouse itself is very comfortable.
Amazing house! Stylish, beautiful every detail was well thought through. I also enjoyed the view from the house to Cilaos - it was amazing. But better have a car if you stay here - a little out of Cilaos.
