Set in Santa Luzia, 2.2 km from Tavira Island Beach and 2.7 km from Terra Estreita Beach, Santa Luzia Apartment Sl016 offers air-conditioned accommodation with a balcony and free WiFi.

The apartment itself was first-rate. Clean, fresh, nicely furnished. It had everything we needed for an extensive stay. Elisabete was very friendly and probably would have been very helpful, except we didn't need anything because everything was already there. A five minute walk to the waterfront, cafés and mini- mercado. The beach on Ilha Tavira is exceptional and closeby Tavira is a lovely city for exploring and dining.

It was nice to walk into town to enjoy the local bars and restaurants. The closest beach is Praia do Barril and we took the Touristic Train - Praia do Barril which was a 15 minute walk and 5 minute Touristic Train trip. We would like to return to enjoy another long weekend staying in this town. We had nice tapas and dinner at O Nuno R. João António Chagas Ferreira. We also enjoyed visiting the towns of Tavira, Faro, Lagos and Sagres.

Santa Luzia is fabulous on a sunny morning or dark evening, a bit quiet but if you really need to get away from the world this is the place. 45 mins by car from the airport, very little traffic, really chilled out. Plenty of restaurants but no real pub scene. A 30 minute walk to the nearest train station will bring you to other towns if you have a dull day or need a break from the beach.

Santa Luzia is a really special place.

Santa Luzia is a really special place. It is located on salt marshes with a stunning beach over the marshes with easy access on a train (or walking) to Burrill beach. The beach is very clean and absolutely stunning. Santa Luzia is known for octopus (as it is a fishing village) and there are some excellent restaurants serving octopus. A lovely find - It's certainly feels quite special because the area is unspoilt and would appeal to bird watchers and lovers' of nature. Lots of walking, cycling, along the waterfront and over to the beach. A great place. And it's very much a locals place with fishermen living and working in the area. Very much worth a visit.

Small quiet village that is really alive in the early morning because of the fishing fleet. Very good bakery 'Vila Doce' with nice coffee & cake. Good octopus at 'Casa do Polvo'. It is possible to visit the beautiful beach (Praia Barril) at the other side of the island, on walking distance.

Visited at beginning of Coronavirus problem so not a fair appraisal of facilities. Pretty deserted & very few bars & restaurants open but a good number & variety available in normal times, Santa Luzia itself retains its original authenticity & has not been modernised in a bad way. Would visit again in better times!!

My favorite part of Santa Luzia is the excellent fish restaurants. The staff in all restaurants spoke good English and they were very helpful in recommending good local food and wine (not necessarily the most expensive). Restaurant Vincent was our Favorite mainly due to it being the only restaurant with a good meat selection. Most Santa Luzia restaurants are fish biased which I loved but my wife (who is not a fish lover) found restricting. I'd also recommend Marisqueira Capelo Restaurant for their local wine selection and Prawn Peri Peri. They also did excellent peppered steak. The beach is short boat ride away (2Euro return) and is clean and not too busy but it can can get windy. Choose your spot carefully. There's loads of little private spots away from people and the wind. The sea is cold which I wouldn't recommend to snorkelers unless they have a wet suit. The kids loved it though.
