Everything was perfect. The view was breathtaking and the manager Ines, went out of her way to make us feel very welcome. She even made fresh scones every day for us. Their wines were the best. We also enjoyed the beautiful view from the jacuzzi.

What is there not to like? Joao and Marcela were brilliant, always smiling, always helpful. The food was amazing, the wine was amazing, the atmosphere was amazing and the things to do were brilliant.

The place was in a great location, and the owners were so lovely and attentive! If you wish to eat at the property, the food is made with care and so delicious. It had all the necessary commodities (and more) while being surrounded by nature. A walk around the vineyard is a must and the view is breathtaking.
The location in Duro is breathtaking. Casa de Calinhas is perfect for staying one night. They recommend restaurants and wineries to visit. Idillic day. Village is very small and up windy roads in the mountain, but restaurant have delicious homemade cuisine.

The village of Mesao Frio was a long steep walk from our accommodation Imaginario d'El-Rei but was well worth it. We ate in the local family restaurant Atasca Do Zequinha which was run by a brother and sister. It was right at the top the hill and was almost like going into their own home. The food was excellent along with the local wines and you were made to feel part of the family. We enjoyed it so much that we returned again for our second night.

Mesao Frio is a small, quaint town in the Douro hills at the western end of Portuguese wine country. A small number of charming restaurants, nice people and vineyards abound. Great base for exploring the Upper Douro and Portugal's fantastic wine country.
This really is a magical place! The owners and staff are amazing-very detailed oriented. Lot’s of little touches from candles, to flowers to port. The road getting up to Quinta do Bosque can be challenging but well worth the effort once you arrive! The breakfasts were fabulous-so much to choose from and presented so nicely. We decided to have dinner there both nights. Really loved the starters, soup and desserts. I can’t say enough about Quinta Do Bosque-of our 2 weeks traveling around Portugal this was a highlight for sure!
It was a wonderful place to stay. Absolutely spectacular views from the property....in the bedrooms and by the pool. It has a lovely atmosphere, as if you are staying in someone's house rather than a hotel. The bedroom and bathroom were both large and spacious. Joana, the lady who greeted us, was lovely and welcoming and a lady called Claudile ( I think) really looked after us with food. With prior arrangement the property will cook an evening meal which was delicious, including wine and port from the region.
Every room has a fantastic view of the Douro River! The casa was a great base for us to explore the Douro region from. It is also a short walk from Mesão Frio, which has good options for cafes and dinner. Our host couldn’t have been nicer and went the extra mile to be sure we were comfortable, including having his English-speaking son on hand to make check-in easy. The daily breakfast was delicious!
The vineyard was located high on the hill near the village of Mesão Frio, with an open vista of the Douro Valley. The environment is tranquil and natural, surrounded by plantations and with a swimming pool to take dips in the hot summer weather. The owners/staff were fantastic, especially Senhor Carlos who was friendly, humble, and happy to help with anything.
Everything was lovely in this absolutely quite and confortable hotel located in a beautiful setting over the Douro river. Tastly decorated in a rural style, it offers what is needed for a few relaxing days. The small town of Mesao Frio at 1km offers restaurants and services.
Overall our stay at Quinta de S Bernardo was fantastic. The hotel is beautiful, well decorated, great food and excellent location just in front of the Douro River. Staff were exceptional during our stay. We also went for a tasting that was great and highly recommend it.
Absolutely the highlight of our trip - the food and wine were exceptional, the service was impeccable, the property, pool, and amenities were amazing, and every moment there was a true reflection of how amazing Portugal is.
Wonderful stay. This was our favourite place to stay during our three week trip in Portugal. We wish we were able to stay longer. Peaceful and stunning views. Kind staff and comfortable rooms. Great food and wine. Lovely.
We stayed there for the second time and really enjoyed it. The apartment was very clean and beautiful, had delicious brekfast and loved the outdoor area.
