Exceptional. Fabulous breakfasts. Large, well appointed rooms with very flexible sleeping arrangements for our large family group of adult children! Well located for surfing, skateboarding, swimming & chilling. ( although the surf wasn’t great during our stay!) Lovely rooftop terrace. Stunning interior design. We should have hired a car in Lisbon and drive to Maceira. We took the Ree Exprossos bus and were surprised where they dropped us. We had to get a taxi from the bus drop off to the guest house and it was very expensive because it came from so far away. We had anticipated a bust station and taxi rank, but not so.
The town is very quiet but the surrounding area is beautiful and great if you like walking. Nice beaches but not much public transport.

Maceira is right by the oceanside so, it's a great place to relax for a couple of days. Be aware that this part of the country is usually cloudy during the mornings and may not be great for sunbathing. Bring a jacket.
If you're used to eating at any time you want, remember that this is a small town and most restaurants and cafés have very tight schedules and won't serve you it's close to 10PM. Went to the mall in Torres Vedras which was supposed to be open until 11PM and even there, most places wouldn't serve me because it was nearly closing time.
Other than that, enjoy the scenery and explore as much nature as you can.
