This is a beautiful old world hotel full of antiques and lots of charm. It was located near the famous Luso Termas. Parking was free and secure on site behind the hotel. The Breakfast was wonderful!
Buffet included eggs, bacon and mushrooms, plus cheeses , meats, fruits and breads. This was our favorite hotel on our trip to Portugal.
Set in the Bussaco National Forest, this 5-star hotel is housed in the hunting palace of the last Portuguese kings. Its elegant restaurant offers a range of exclusive Bussaco wines.

Great room and staff. I ordered food to the hotel that the staff helped with sorting and they gave me a plate and cutlery to use. Breakfast was a really good buffet and the room had everything i needed.
It was pouring with rain when I arrived and the staff had no problem with me arriving early from walking the Camino.
Curia is an undiscovered gem. A 15 minute lovely walk from the accommodation gives gorgeous old affluent hotels/gardens/sculptures and tree lined avenues. One of our highlights in three months of travel!

The home of suckling pig and espumante!
The home of suckling pig and espumante! A great place to visit to try Portuguese sparkling wine and leitao. Also, an easy train journey or drive to Coimbra and Aveiro, and a 40 minute drive to Costa Nova with its incredible strippy houses and beautiful beaches. We at at Salpoente in Aveiro and Pedro and Ines at Quinta de Lagrimas in Coimbra, highly recommend both. Also visited Caves Sao Joao - a MUST visit. Great tour and tasting!

The great attraction of Curia is its 14 hectars Termal Park...
The great attraction of Curia is its 14 hectars Termal Park which has always been open to visitors. Now they decided to close it to visitors staying in other hotels which is detrimental to the local tourism. They could have charged entry, controlled numbers of visitors, taken the names of visitors, anything that might make sense, rather than forbid everybody from enjoying this great local asset.
So I would make sure this decision of closing the Termal Park was changed before booking a vacation there
Everything was great!!
You can’t never find the accommodation with this price and quality.
Also at night, it’s very calm and peaceful. Slept very well.
Dona Paula was really nice and supportive.
Even though I can’t speak Portuguese well, but I understood that she wants to help her guests with her maximum effort.
Exerior of building might seem to old or in construction, however inside of the hotel is fine.
Bath tub was really good to take a rest.
Breakfast was simple but full enough for my caminho.
Muito obrigado Dona Paula.
The atmosphere was perfect, we liked it very much. The interior of the hotel is very authentic,.4
The restrained, timeless music provided the perfect backdground for the breakfast.
The colored stained glasses are very beautiful.
We're sorry we were only able to spend just a day here.
Value for money is perfect.
We hope that the hotel will be able to operate with a full house in the future!
great stay at a very old school resort. in its day this must have been quite the experience. If you like old hotels and a trip back in time this is a place for you. We ate dinner in the hotel and it was excellent. the local wine is rare and exceptional with some older vintages. the golf course has been closed for seven years so don’t expect to golf the breakfast was exceptional as well.
The hotel is very well located within the beautiful park and surroundings of Curia. It's old style with a lot of space in the dining room, bar, rooms. The staff was friendly in particular with the younger ones. The restaurant was good, albeit with limited offers at lunch/dinner time some days of the week. The breakfast was very good and varied.
This almost 100 year old, 3rd generation run family hotel is a true gem. It oozes a vintage grandeur of the twenties. High ceilings, wooden details, it takes your breath away. Combined with a very welcoming and attentive staff it is most definitely one of my more memorable stays in Portugal. Highly recommend!
The historical significance and charm of a grand hotel. Staff was friendly and extremely accommodating. We felt as if we were welcomed as family. This is the 4th generation to operate the hotel (same family that built the hotel in 1922).
All the staff is very helpful and nice to the guests. Breakfast was very good in a room with lots of space for everyone. The main hotel building is beautiful, very old, taking us back in time. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable.
Great space with nice, helpful workers. The pool is really great and very near. There's a pool table, a ping pong table and a foosball table. The kitchenette is well equipped.
It was a beautiful boutique hotel built by the proprietor’s grandparents. The rooms and bathrooms were spacious. The hotel had lovely common areas and gardens.
Elegant hotel in lovely setting. It was a perfect stop off on our drive to Porto. Outdoor swimming pool was a bonus, as was free parking and breakfast.
