The location is not for everyone, but we loved it.
It is isolated from the nearest villages, but the views more than compensate for that you're pretty much required to have dinner in their, very good (!), restaurant if you want to have glass or two of wine.

wonderful quiet location on edge of River Douro. Beautiful walk available along “towpath” with wild flowers, ospreys etc. Why only two stars? it has two lounges, two dining rooms, air conditioning, hair driers, en suite facilities….and lovely owner and staff.
Next door by the station is a very interesting restaurant with unusual regional dishes at very reasonable prices.
