We were warmly welcomed to this hotel by friendly and accommodating staff, and were told our room had been upgraded. Our room was beautiful (#5), nestled in the vineyards looking out onto the sea with a feature wall inside looking into lit up cave - the most unique room we’ve ever stayed in! The breakfast was the best hotel breakfast we had ever experienced. 95% of the vegetables are grown on site and every dish was delicious. We also had a 3 course dinner at the hotel one evening which was really special. Would recommend this hotel for anyone wanting to experience pure relaxation in a peaceful and scenic setting.

In general it was okay. I'm not picky so it was fine for me. It has all amenities you need, so you can easily make yourself a meal. It was clean, although I think it could be cleaned more often. Bed was really comfortable. Host is an amazing, nice woman and willing to help with everything.

Calheta was a lovely little town and the beach was amazing, The local residents were lovely and everybody did so much to make us feel welcome. The Supermarket had everything we need. The parking on the main street was busy but we always found a space. There is a multi storey car park on the harbour end that is less busy.

Superb location and extremely safe and clean.
Superb location and extremely safe and clean. So many beautiful places to eat, have coffee or eat ice cream. Lots of activities available, dolphin and whale watching, sunset cruises, deep sea fishing, close to beautiful and majestic towns like Ponta do Sol l, Ribeira Brava and West Coast touring. There is great taxi service at the hotel. One of the best taxis drivers is Nelson Lala (00351) 964 487 595 and we took private tours with him, far better than any group tours.

We loved Calheta Beach for its soft sand and calm waters, thanks to the sheltered cove. While not a natural beach, it offers a relaxing atmosphere. The area around the harbor boasts several excellent restaurants, and the beach itself has a convenient beach club for drinks and snacks. Plus, the affordable beach chairs for just 2 euros were a nice bonus.

Calheta is a nice village and had a big supermarket as well as smaller shops and a white sand beach. If you enjoy hiking, you will have to travel a bit because most of the hikes are not located in this part of the island. I would personally stay somewhere a bit more centered next time. Although this town also had a certain charm because part of the village is still rather old, it also has a main road next to the beach with some restaurants, a bigger supermarket, pharmacy, ... I enjoy staying in a neighborhood which is a little more vibrant and went on a lot of hikes, so that's why I would choose a different town to stay the next time I visit Madeira.

We could not recommend this property enough! This property is absolutely stunning, with views that are completely sensational. The property is extremely clean and filled with everything you could need. The supermarket is only a few minutes away which is always handy and there are many restaurants around. There is also a beach a few minutes away and is only less than 30 mins away from Funchal. The bedrooms are very spacious, very clean and towels are provided. If you looking to stay in Madeira this property has everything.
The location of the property was beautiful with a sea view and great terrace. The pool was amazing for our 13 and 15 year old and is bigger than the photos make it look. The house was a perfect size for all four of us and was well equipped. The contact with the host was excellent before and during our stay and they answered everything we needed to know. Given the hills I would recommend hiring a car even going down to the beach in Calheta.
The hotel is situated in a gorgeous part of Calheta. It was super serene with only the waves crashing against the shore, my guests and I felt really at peace here. The spa and pool facilities were at very high standards and cleaned regularly. The breakfast was extensive, definitely among some of the best I've had and the staff were always present and willing to help. Amazing views from every angle of the hotel.
The room was excellent (we had an end room with a nice view.) There was a great selection of sun loungers around the pool so there wasn't much stress to find one even if you were a bit late down in the morning. The hotel was very clean and friendly and right beside a really nice little beach.
I was looking for a hotel with dinner included as a base for my trips on the west part of Madeira during the Christmas. We had a very spacious bungalow with a view to the sea. Music show was available the evening. Food was ok.
