I stayed for 6 nights at this guesthouse. The location is ideal for those seeking a quiet place, though it requires having a car to move around freely. The house has immense potential; however, it is somewhat neglected. The staff are friendly, despite the fact that I never saw them and they were only available via WhatsApp for most of the time I needed to communicate with them. The fact that there was construction work next door (always starting early, but I also always woke up early to make the most of the day) and dogs barking at night in the local area did not negatively impact my rest, and I am a light sleeper.
Enjoyed our stay here. Gilda was a really helpful host - answered all messages beforehand and was a great help when we were there. Always cheerful and with good advice. Also helped us with taxis.
Rooms were good and clean, breakfast was excellent.
Location was decent - about a 15 minute walk to the village and slightly longer down to the coast. There's a sheltered (for the Azores) rocky section on the coast south of the house which has nice swimming/snorkling.
We did a trip to Furnas hot pools and botanical gardens. Really recommend it.

We had a great time in Agua de Pau. It's close to a lot of the attractions you will want to check out while you are in Sao Miguel & if you don't want to leave Agua, there are plenty of cute restaurants, swimming & other activities.
