Zakopane is just ideal if you like to be in mountains and also have quite good variety of services around. Tip: if you like more mountains and would like to be more in nature and without feeling of being around many tourists - I recommend Slovak Tatras. If you prefer more sort of town vibe, lot of services and having everything accessible - I recommend Zakopane.

My trip to Zakopane was great overall.
My trip to Zakopane was great overall. I stayed for three days, but with travel time, it felt like two and a half. I took a FlixBus from Warsaw, which was delayed by an hour. Upon arrival, I had to wait for a bus that required coins, which I didn’t have, causing some stress. I managed to get coins from Żabka but ended up walking for an hour with my suitcase due to the cold and long bus wait times.
On the first day, I visited the local market and Zakopane street. The next morning, I woke up early for a hike to Morskie Oko. Finding transport there required research, as Google Maps wasn’t clear. Eventually, I found a small van that took me directly for 15 zł. The hike was beautiful, but I couldn’t continue to the next part, which takes another three hours – something I’ll do next time.
Later, I wanted to visit a hilltop with panoramic views, but tickets weren’t available, so I opted to visit a local cemetery instead. Next time, I would plan a four-day trip for a more relaxed experience. The locals were friendly, and while buses were useful, taxis were more convenient for shorter trips.
Zakopane was a lovely experience, and I would recommend it to others looking for a scenic, peaceful getaway.

If you want mountains there's something for everyone.
If you want mountains there's something for everyone. Relatively flat valley paths for lazy strolls, endless hiking paths of various difficulty, and more serious climbs for those who want to be challaged.

Zakopane is a wonderful city for active recreation, including hiking, skiing, and snowboarding, as well as for creative people who love to paint or photograph nature. You can find quite affordable and good accommodation, but it’s important to pay close attention to the reviews, as there can be some very poor options. Restaurant prices are somewhat higher than in Warsaw. I recommend taking a walk to Morskie Oko and through the Valley of Five Lakes.

Typical turist moutain town, I been there few times, love it every time. Nice change from the Canadian praries :)
Prices are higher than every where else, but that is to be expected.
Lots to do, hike, walk, clime moutains and there are ski jumps and competitions in the winter.

This town is certainly worth a visit.
This town is certainly worth a visit. You must take the funicular up the mountain to see the view. This trip I didn't have time to walk any of the nearby mountains, but the views were wonderful. The town itself was a buzz with tourists. Restaurant options were huge, a walk through the town park was enjoyable. There was a local market there when I visited. I travelled by train from the Krakow Airport, very easy and returned to the Airport using the Flix Bus route. Easy and convenient. I ate a very nice Thai restaurant, outside enjoying the fresh air. I walked everywhere around the township. There is plenty to see and do.

We had the pleasure to spend three days in the Aperthotel Cristina.
I can fully recommend the hotel. location is very convenient (just a two min walk from Krupowki street), staff was very nice and kind, the two restaurants in and under the hotel are among the top restaurants in Zakopane, wellness nice and cozy with a nice view and on top of that we had a beautiful apartment.
Great location, near to Krupówki street, bus and train station. Biedronka shop nearby.
Very spacious accommodation (enough for family of 6 or even up to 8). Two bathrooms, sauna (great to relax after skiing or hiking). Well equipped kitchen (including Dolce gusto coffee machine).
Situated in the centre, literally 30 seconds from Krupowki. Close to all the shops and restaurant. Room is pretty big, with amazing shower. Easy car park in front of the Hotel, which is a luxury in Zakopane high-season. I would come back here everytime.
Osada is situated very close to the Zakopane town center, but at the same time it is close to mountains and skiing opportunities. The cottage is spacious, warm, very well equipped and very cozy. We've really enjoyed our stay and we will return.
