I visited Maasin City Jun 2023 during a cycling bikepacking trip around Leyte. I just had an afternoon to look around the area and I visited the Maasin Cathedral and the Terminal area. Limited selection of more comfortable restaurants and bars. The seafront promenade is a lovely place for a stroll and I found a cafe called Happy Tummy to relax and have a beer and some snacks while taking in the sea views. Locals are friendly and welcoming. If I had more time I might have visited some of the other tourist attractions outside the city area, but I was really just here to overnight before an early morning ferry to Cebu.

Very small town but the people so amazingly friendly.
Very small town but the people so amazingly friendly. Felt safe waking around alone. The food was amazing especially a place called the Wok. Not much in way of shopping but had all I needed. I am from Canada and been in many islands in Philippines. Maasin I felt safe welcomed and enjoyed my stay.
