One of the best hotels of our Peru trip. The staff are so friendly and super helpful. The rooms are very lovely. Such a good value! As a family we got a little suite. Most importantly they have functioning AC! They also accommodated an early breakfast for us since our flight was leaving early in the morning.

Everything was as advertised. We got an airport shuttle in both directions and he was always on time. Breakfast was delicious -- better than any continental breakfast I have had at a hotel in the USA. It comes out buffet style and isn't under warmers, which others have complained about but I thought it was fine. The pool and restaurant are both on the 7th floor and they're lovely; I highly recommend getting a meal at the restaurant and eating it at one of the tables by the pool that overlooks the city. I really don't know the area, so I can't say if it is in a good location or not, but I always felt safe enough for someone traveling internationally.

The staff is by far the greatest asset of Gree Diamond Lodge. They are exceptional. The beds could be improved. In my opinion the single best improvement they could make is finding a way to provide fans in the rooms, possibly powered by solar. The heat and humidity are quite overwhelming.

Puerto Maldonado is a little off the beaten path as far as tourist destinations go, so therefore it doesn’t have the modern comfort amenities that most tourists are accustomed to. However, if you are a nature enthusiast and want a real and authentic Amazon experience and friendly people, Puerto Maldonado is a great place to see the Amazon in the raw.

Pretty small town, and only visited the area around centro (Plaza de Armas), but it was well-kept and had plenty of restaurants and a bank. Ate at two nearby restaurants (Burgos's and Carrion32), both of which were quite good and reasonably priced. It's also only 15-20 soles to ride a tuktuk-like taxi to or from the airport, and each fits up to 3x passengers if you are not carrying a ton of luggage. The taxis are fun too!

The town itself is basic but it's a great base for many nearby places to see wildlife. There are a lot of great day tours in the area, so you can stay in Puerto two or three days and do day tours while you organize an overnight trip.
Many tour agencies charge more for online reservations because platforms charge them up to 25% commission. If you go to Puerto Maldonado you can book all your tours in person. There is a small street just off the Plaza de Armas with a dozen agencies. Walk around, compare service and prices before choosing day tours. Do a few day tours and then go to an eco-lodge for a 3 or 4 day trip into Tambopata National Park.

There is not much to do in the city itself.
There is not much to do in the city itself. No reason to visit the city except as a starting point for visits to the Tambopata reserve near by. That is certainly worth a visit of several days, Lago Sandoval, Collpa de Chuncho, adventure day with canopy walks, ziplines, kayaks, etc. The three different guides we experienced during our stay were excellent, knowledgeable, patient and friendly. Lots of nature to see in this luscious jungle area.

The amount of unique life in the Amazon, right outside Puerto Maldonado was stunning and our tour guides’ knowledge of everything was so impressive. Did not get to spend much time in town but the beauty and wonder just up the river where we stayed was astounding.

Our stay at Hacienda Herrera was magical. You are greeted by friendly staff and surrounded by the most spectacular scenery of the Amazon. Kenny and Ruth are wonderful and attentive hosts. Our favorite part was gathering in the main house for home cooked, fresh, organic meals and conversation with other guests. I did my research on lodges in Puerto Maldonado, and I am glad I found Hacienda Herrera. It's a special place that will make your Amazonian adventure one to remember.
Best food ever! The lodges are completely new and super clean. We loved the silence, but also the near to the city.
Personal service of the hosts is amazing. Great recommendations, guided tours are available and a great location of the bungalows at the river.
We definitely recommend this Airbnb for couples, families and also friends travelling together.
Especially the fishes Emanuel prepared for us will stay in our memory!
The owner Cecilia was super nice, a street dog bite me, and she without hesitate not even a second .offered herself to take me to the emergency room, the the staff there didn't want to take care of me, then she took me.to another place, spending a lot of her time waiting for someone to clean the wound.
The hostel is well decorated.and all staff.are.very nice. I will definitely came back.
Thanks Cecilia!!
We were pleasantly surprised with this hotel! It was much cleaner than we expected and more modern! The bathroom was the cleanest out of all the places we stayed in South America!! The staff was friendly and very helpful. Good and safe location close to the shops. AC worked great, so we didn’t have to sleep in the heat which was amazing :)
The owners are very kind and only too happy to show you around the property and all the birds that come in for a feed. They are able to cook lunch or dinner when you like, though it is a limited menu. I liked the quietness of the hotel as it's outside of the main town.
Beautiful hotel with amazing location in the Amazon! Staff was incredibly flexible and accommodating, squeezing in an extra half day tour for me. For being in the middle of the Amazon, had a great restaurant with really good food on their menu, which changed daily too.
The location of Libelula is fantastic, really close to the plaza. The staff are brilliant, very accommodating. I always stay here when I'm in Puerto Maldonado now as its very reasonably priced and offers everything that I need - it's clean, convenient and comfortable.
Breakfast was amazing - we even asked for breakfast on the way back - as we stored suitcases there during the jungle trip. We also asked for airport transfers and local taxi in Puerto Maldonado, which was arranged.
A great place for lovers of wildlife. Beautiful garden and a lake with caimans and hoatzins. Very nice and helpful owners. Tasty breakfasts and dinner. One of the best places we stayed in Peru.
Breakfast is plenty and tasty. They even had Nutella! A water fountain is available in the reception area, very convenient to refill your bottle.
The hotel was quiet at night, beds were comfy.
Great hotel blocks from main plaza! It was fun to be able to explore the town a little. We stayed in an airconditioned new wing with a beautiful view of the river. I'd stay here again!
The staff were all super friendly and the decor of the place was great. They helped us set up tours with a company. They gave us a bottle of wine to celebrate our anniversary.
Excellent location and strong air conditioning. The breakfast buffet was good, with good fresh fruit and bread. The coffee wasn't great but it was good for Puerto Maldonado.
Everything was perfect! The daily tours were arranged by our amazing tour guide, Rico. Rico was incredibly knowledgeable about the plants and animals and taught us so much.
