It was very nice stay. The hotel was neat and clean.
Tha staff's were friends. It is very good location near to the souq and the Nizwa fort which is at walkable distance and can witness Omani traditional dance and dramas.
The food in the Turkish restaurant just below the hotel was very good.

Nizwa is a lovely city with lots to see however it is also central to many other towns and sights within easy drives. The highlight for me is the Friday goat market and I would recommend this to anyone visiting Nizwa.

Nizwa is a beautiful little town you need to stop by if you are venturing around in Oman. The Nizwa fort is a must. I learned a lot about the country and Nizwa by walking around and seeing the exhibition and everything else. Also in Nizwa, you have a small and cute souq. I found the prices in Nizwa lower than in Muscat, especially the saffron. If you plan on going to Muscat after Nizwa, I would also recommend buying a scarf there. I also loved the fruit market where I got to taste Halwa in different styles (something I wouldn't have dared try at a restaurant) and just the smells and atmosphere were incredible.

True old walled city unlike any other in the Gulf.
True old walled city unlike any other in the Gulf. Citadel is worth it and well preserved. Old souks are also real. It is a nice hub to visit the area and fort around it in Hamra, Bahla and even to go to Jabal Akhdar. strongly recommend one of the charming hotels inside the old city. Problem with Niza (like much of Oman) is that outside of nature activities, there is not much to do. no good restaurants, festivals, concerts, or places to go out to.

Very nice city, souq, castle, fort and mosque all close one to each other, so really convenient to visit them together. A lot of restaurants, bars and amenities. Qaboos mosque 10mins far from city center, it needs a car to be reached.

people ale super nice. they were talking to us, waving, asking if we are happy here and wishing us good stay. beautiful old town, gorgeous old buildings. amazing and not so priced food. in central souq prices are high, but if you go to eastern souq you can meet nice people and buy good things in great prices! there’s drinkable water on the streets for free. lots of plants in whole city. unlike many big cities, Nizwa is very walkable, you don’t need a car or taxi to explore it. highly recommended:)

Nizwa is a small yet beautiful town located at an hour and a half drive from Muscat. Drive from Muscat to Nizwa and back has breathtaking views especially during winters and people are friendly.
Trip to Nizwa Souq is a must and drive around the city is enjoyable too. Souq offers the opportunity to experience the culture and heritage of Oman and Antique shops are amazing.
For those going to Jebel Akhdar, its just 35 - 40 kms from Nizwa, depending on which part of the town you are in.
It can be just a day trip for those travelling from Muscat or a weekend retreat if someone is looking for a small break.
Overall really worth a visit.
Actually a great hotel ! I do not understand why this has only 7,9 score. It is very spacious, wonderful Oman interior and great food. Nice rooms connecting to the great pool and very quiet. Yes, it is a bit remote from Nizwa, but I suppose people have rental cars, which makes it super as a basis for the surrounding visits of towns and sightseeings.
Really, this is worth a 10 in my opinion. So do not hesitate and book this hotel. Much better than all what is to offer in Nizwa itself ! You won't regret it.
1. Location, 3min walk to the Souq and Nizwa Fort.
2. Parking, plenty of spaces nearby and Ali helped us park even closer to the guesthouse.
3. Hospitality, welcome drinks and snacks, tour of the guesthouse, and helpful local tips. We were lucky enough to be provided some Iftar food as Ramadan experience.
4. Room, clean and well-decorated, nice and quiet.
5. Facility, a beautiful yard for dining, a patio with cozy seating and fantastic view, great for chilling out at night.
Super kind and helpful owners, made us feel very welcome and accommodated us staying longer last minute. We stayed the third night at their sister hotel, the Omani Guest house, which is a few minutes down the road. We actually preferred it there, it is set back from the road so is a little more peaceful, and has a small garden with an aviary. Get their breakfast, the tea flavored with thyme is amazingly delicious. Highly recommend staying with these guys in Nizwa.
Oman is opening up to tourist and this is one of the great initiatives to revitalize the city’s old, traditional houses and incorporate them into the tourism industry. Beautifully restored and very conveniently place, quite literally right in the center of the old town one can walk to Nizwa fortress or the souq in less than time that it would take to Google directions.
Note: Streets can be narrow so don’t drive in there unless you know what you’re doing.
One of the best hotel with private pool in Oman. All pools are temperature controlled, so you can enjoy swimming any time during the day or evening. Will not get private pool in Oman at this rate.
Good breakfast and nearby reem restaurant from where you can order delicious meals.
Very good and respectful people to deal with. A must visit...
The location in the centre of Nizwa. Near the souk. There was a public parking space near the hotel. The receptionist went with me and guided me through the narrow streets of Nizwa to the parking space.
The renovation of the old building into the hotel was incredible.
You can order a breakfast, which is in a nearby neighboring hotel.
The property is located right in the old town, 2 min walk from Nizwa souk and has a lot of charm. The staff is very pleasant and friendly, they patiently accomodated our late check-in and even offered an uprgaded room. The hotel has a nice majlis and outdoors sitting area. In fact, it it much better than in the pictures.
The location of the hotel is an advantage to the tourist. It’s just 5 minutes from Nizwa fort and Nizwa transitional market. The room is very wide and comfortable with a full size bed in the bedroom, setting area in the living room and a kitchenette. My family enjoyed the stay.
The entire place is gorgeous, you feel like you are staying in a place taken out from Aladdin movie, the vibe is unique. Is location walking distance to the main attractions of Nizwa. And the owners have one of the best coffee shops in all Oman just around the corner.
Awesome location, very clean room, beautiful paintings and design. There was an actual artist in the hotel at all times who did the paintings in the hotel, and we could watch him paint.
First hotel in Oman where I got enough towels. ❤️
Very comfortable bed.
Perfect location, very well maintained, clean and well equipped.
Ideal for families looking for a perfect getaway.
The pool is well maintained.
Highly recommend this place to stay if planning to visit Jebel shams and Jebel akhdar and places near Nizwa.
Really friendly. The spot is perfect and directly at the Nizwa Fort! The room was perfect and clean.
We loved the flowers and other plants outside the house; really beautiful!
We were german voyagers on a trip through the northern Oman.
Approved!
Lovely location, perfect for a quick stop in Nizwa. Food in the hotel good. I would recommend booking for dinner as there aren’t really any restaurants in the centre of Nizwa
