Very beautiful garden, beautiful view, sunny deck, good vibes, warm cabin with everything we needed. We had an awesome evening with pizzas cooked in the pizza oven by Steve, with other guests, it was really nice. I also enjoyed yoga classes the 2 mornings I spent there, with 2 good instructors, Jade was the best!
We loved our stay and we are looking forward to go back!

Good location but a little further way from main township than we thought. Good facilities but no spares i.e. 2 knives and 2 forks. Modern clean bathroom facilities.
A great place to stay. Lovely safe beach for walking and swimming. Wainui falls and labyrinth rocks not far away. About 20 minutes to Tākaka for a browse through really interesting shops and 40 minutes to Collingwood for the farewell spit tour. Nothing disappointed.

Molly’s restaurant was ideally sited with an excellent menu for both adults/children. Staff were lovely and friendly. We visited Wharariki Beach which was a beautiful area featuring the Archway Islands and also nearby Tata Beach - popped into Takaka a few times to visit the local market and various cafes - would definitely visit Pohara again.

Everything we needed within walking distance, inhouse bar and restaurant were amazing. Spa pool and swimming pool were very clean. It felt like a resort. Easy drive to many local attractions, kayaking, walks, distillery, art studios. Staff were so friendly and professional. Food was top class - we dined there all 3 nights. We could choose from the entire menu for our "Breakfast Included" deal (which was extensive). Bathroom was well appointed with large shower, bathrobes, toiletries, hairdryer and loads of linen. Beds were sooooo comfortable.

We could have stayed longer but our accommodation was really bad so it tainted our experience of Pohara a bit.
But... the locals seem real nice, location is great, close to Takaka and surrounded by amazing natural beauty.

The accommodation was fine, beds comfortable and the TVetc all worked well. There are clearly some issues of repair that need to be done I.e. large cracks on the walls and areas of ceiling sag which show age and historical damage. It is single glazed and does get a lot of condensation (we stayed in mid October so that isn't unexpected) so a dehumidifier is not a bad plan if you plan to stay for a while.
Proximity to the beach, a local dairy (corner shop) and cafe/bar restaurant were great.
Amazing views, stylish and comfortable. While a small space, it had everything needed and more. I was impressed with the kitchenware which was well-supplied and thought out for use in a small space. There was an inflatable paddle board which is great to take out on a calm morning and watch the dawn from the water. Short walking distance to several restaurants. The host was responsive. I wouldn’t hesitate to come back and stay longer.
Thank you very much for letting us use your wonderful house at Pohara. It is simply amazing and could not have picked a nicer place to Stay.
When we are asked for a review, it will be absolutely glowing as we found it just what we would expect if we were renting a place.
If we are ever back in the area again we would love to book it again and we will be telling friends and family the same.

Filip and Sonya were fabulous hosts-very hospitable and generous with information and recommendations. The shuttle service to Abel Tasman made a day tramping in the park seamless. We enjoyed the accommodations so much we were lucky enough to be able to extend our stay by one day. Pōhara is an excellent location for visiting the Golden Bay and I can’t recommend the Bay Lodge highly enough.
Christine and Zahid were amazing hosts. Super friendly and accomodating. Our room was very comfortable. The meals were delicious and of the highest standard. Location was so good just across from the beach and only short distance to travel to everything we wanted to see. Laundry service available. We enjoyed the spa at the end of each day. Such a relaxing stay.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. From check-in to check-out the staff were extremely warm and polite. The rooms were great and pre-heated, which was nice on a cooler day. Our experience was such that this will be our go-to accommodation in Golden Bay in the future. Thank you, Ethan and all your staff for a wonderful experience.
This property is in an amazing location. Very close to Pokhara, while being right at the beach. The access to cafes and restaurants is terrific with the added bonus of being near some lovely walking areas.
The property was wonderfully stocked with lots of kitchen utensils etc, perfect for a family get together.
We have always loved Pohara, so were happy to get somewhere to stay - a little last minute. Easy walking to bars, shop etc 10 mins. Beach 2 mins. Obviously quite new, so some privacy with plantings have not established but will with time and will be very nice.
Great location. Well equipped unit. Spacious. Shelley was a lovely and helpful host. Gave us so many good tips we stayed longer in Golden Bay. We heard Morepork at night and (maybe) Kiwi.
It was a sweet little bach with a comfortable bed and nice living space. Nice location for beach and convenient as an overnight stop for Abel Tasman the following day.
