Fabulous accommodation just a pity we were only there for one night. The lady at reception was very nice and so helpful.
Situated next to the Pacific Ocean, this motel is 5 minutes’ drive from Kaikoura Racecourse. All rooms offer a TV with satellite channels. Free parking is offered on site.

Sierra motel is situated not too far along the Esplanade, just on the road out of town heading towards the seal colony, with great views out over the ocean. Also a short walk to the the very cool Mayfair cinema. Whilst I stayed in their low cost one bedroom unit, you do get a mini kitchen, small table and sofa in the lounge, so plenty of space. Great hot water to bathroom and plenty of comfy pillows on the double bed.

Mondello Kaikoura was very conveniently located, less than 2 mins drive to the main street dotted with shops and restaurants, and less than 2 mins (in the opposite direction) to the supermarket, convenience stores and other restaurants. We stayed in the 2 bedroom apartment - which was clean and even had a balcony with mountainside view. There is a guest laundry (coin operated) that was easy to use and convenient.
The Lazy Shag Lodge in Kaikoura has a garden and a terrace. The hostel features a shared lounge. All rooms at The Lodge have private toilet and shower.
