the accommodation was in my view for what they had for offer was overpriced, Breakfast was bacon and eggs both overcooked, served with toast ,tea and milk, they need better options for breakfast, the Restaurant is closed so you need to go out for dinner, from memory that place used to pump, it was a top place to eat

Peaceful retreat away from the city life.
Peaceful retreat away from the city life. The scenic views, fresh air and friendly staff made our stay nice and comfy. There were a few different trails nearby such as the Papamoa Green Village historical walk and the Maungawhai Beach. Loved the local fish and chip shop across from the Green village with amazing homemade cakes and slices. We are looking forward to revisiting later on in the year.
The Matakohe House is located conveniently approximately 100 meters from the Matakohe museum. We were greeted by our host, Jackie. The BB has sizeable rooms with on suite. Leading out to balcony also internal access. Comfortable beds. We enjoyed the option of the evening meal onsite. The yummy dessert. The following morning, after a leisurely breakfast included in price we made to the museum 😀
The Matakohe Holiday Park is the best we have ever stayed in which is super clean, quiet and convenient with fully equipped cooking facilities. Their friendly and helpful staff are just as sweet as the watermelon they treated us when checking in. Loved this place and highly recommended!
The location is excellent if you are visiting the Kauri Coast and Matakohe Kauri Museum. There is a small playground for kids. A twin coast highway accommodation that would suit families and larger groups. nzjane recommends Matakohe Holiday Park.
It is a very quiet location, a typical holiday park with spaces for campers and some cabins.Basic but comfortable. It is walking distance to the amazing Kairi Museum, well worth a visit.
