Great auto museum and seeing Burt Munro’s bike at E Hayes Hardware. Also a trip out to Ōreti beach where he practised racing his bike and then onto Bluff and then Riverton, Colac Bay, Cosy Nook etc and onward to Gemstone beach was well worthwhile. These are all things you can do regardless of the weather.

Unfortunately the visitors centre was closed in 2020, so there was no information about what to see and how to achieve this. We were recommended to visit Stewart Island, apparently being the main attraction. You needed to book online but there was no information
about the trip. At a cost of $200 each, rather expensive. Drove to Bluff to find out for ourselves, 30 kms but even less information. Very disappointing. Not much in the way of restaurants unless you are in to Asian food. One shopping centre, not much in it.

Nice flat walking, the new mall has all the usual shops plus some additional surprises. Shopping is great, streets very clean, Queens Park is lovely and well cared for and there is a lot of city centre development going on with improvements for locals and visitors alike. Amigos restaurant if you like chili and Mexican food is worth a try.

Great city on the up.
Great city on the up. Good selection of eateries and things to do and see. Most attractions are fairly close to the centre, and the airport is 5 minutes from there. I can happily recommend Invercargill for a visit.

Invercargill has a lot to offer. Queen's Park is a must-see. Aside from the beautiful gardens, there are nice bird aviaries and farmyard animals. It's a great place for families with a nice playground and cafe. Bill Richardson Transport World is a highlight, along with Oreti Beach which Bert Munro used as a race track. Hubber's Emporium and E Hayes are fantastic shops with many interesting things to see. There is a nice new mall and we found some good places to eat

Queens Gardens are a must, especially at rose time.
Queens Gardens are a must, especially at rose time. Ascot dinner excellent though a bit pricey.
I doubt anybody visits for he shopping ( e.g. one "mall " ) or eating out which is quite restricted.
Spacious motel unit with a separate bedroom with a TV in the living room and in the bedroom. It was clean and tidy with good quality bed linen. Kitchen had an oven and a microwave. Not many motels have a full oven for those who want to cook meals. Allocated car parking spaces. Easy to find location on Main North Road, although if anyone is a light sleeper they may notice the traffic noise. Good water pressure in the shower which is always important.
We had to urgently get to Invercargill Hospital due to an accident and couldn't drive back to our accommodation 2 hours away, so I booked this motel from the hospital, and it was the perfect place to stay overnight, the size of the rooms and the beds everything we needed was there and we will definitely book again if in the area
We are from North Island
The room size is good for family even I have 2 big boys.
The room also has cooking facility for us to make breakfast even dinner.
The location is really good and the supermarket just a walking distance.
I am highly recommend if you stay in Invercargill.
The hotel is in a good location, close to eateries, shops and bars. The staff were friendly. It's a budget hotel, however the room was fine, and the bed was comfortable. Bathroom was functional. The hotel's parking included unlimited entry and exit.
The apartments have all what you need and they are spotless. The staff at the reception (young Philipino lady, I'm sorry I forgot the name) is exceptional and really accommodating. We will definitely stay again if we need to go to Invercargill.
Beiing In the Center of the City Center.
Very impressed how they did the old Post Office up with out knocking it down!
So close to the new Mall, bars and coffee shops. Its a different Invercargill that I once knew.
Will stay again!
Friendly and welcoming greeting on arrival, very clean, comfortable bed and pillows and a warm and inviting room. Minutes away from shops and restaurants. Would recommed to my family and friends staying in Invercargill.
Wow! Such a beautiful hotel.
We were made to feel so welcome from staff on arrival but right through to our checkout. Can not fault this place. Would highly recommend. Location is fantastic too. THANK YOU
I really liked the atmosphere of this done-up hotel in the middle of Invercargill. It has a bit of an old feel to it which I liked. The beds were comfortable, staff friendly, and location perfect.
Great location. Easy parking. Brand new luxury accommodations. Very comfortable room with spacious bathroom that includes soaking tub. Great staff. Lots of dining options right in hotel.
Invercargill s clean streets well presented homes and businesses. The roads were great and easy to navigate. 10 out of 10 Invercargill.
Bluff however seems to have been forgotten.
Quiet neighborhood, walk to Queens Gardens, parking included next to apartment (need car in Invercargill) You could see owners/managers making improvements. Plugs by beds.
