Clyde is a quiet small township off the main highway. It has quite a few cafes, art galleries etc. bike hire etc. We were touring and so only stayed one night but enjoyed a delicious dinner at the Old Post Office with plenty of locals in too.

In Clyde, I was looking for a quiet-ish place with a bit of activity around, so I could do some work without distractions, but feel not too distant from other people. Clyde exceeded my expectations!
What I liked - there's such a variety of things around - a beautiful historic town centre with a few cafes and restaurants. Even a cinema. There's wine stuff nearby for those who are into that (I'm not into that personally). And there are a few walking tracks - I did part of the Cairnmuir Hill Track, which offered beautiful landscapes and stunning views of the surrounding areas.
I also really enjoyed looking at the nearby Hydro dam.

This is possibly one of the nicest B&Bs I've ever stayed in. The room was beautifully appointed with lovely furniture and gorgeous artwork. Perfectly clean and well appointed with very high quality linen & towels. The view from the room is really delightful. And it's all within a gentle walk to all the shops and cafes of Clyde.
Beautiful building and gardens. Perfectly located in central Clyde. Rooms were exceptionally clean. The unique antique furniture throughout gives a comfortable, homely feel, and there is everything provided that you could possibly need. The breakfast was outstanding. A great place to recover after cycling the rail trail.
