The Villa by Frogner House, hotel in Madla

The Villa by Frogner House is set in Stavanger, 500 metres from Stavanger Maritime Museum and 500 metres from Stavanger City Hall. Each accommodation at the 4-star hotel has city views and free WiFi.

The room was quite adequate - even pleasant - for a mid-price comfortable hotel…with one glaring exception - the flooding shower. It was a case of more style than substance e.g. a rack of upside-down wine glasses, a hard-to-operate espresso machine and a pathetically limited array of teabags - 2 rosehip tea bags - who the hell drinks rosehip tisane on a daily basis ?! The balcony was pleasant enough - a view over the rooftops with some distant glimpses of church spires.

Madla is a residential area, basically. A suburb of Stavanger. It is OK for cyclists and drivers but it is rather spread out and tricky to get around if you are on foot. It is a beautiful semi-rural seaside spot if the weather is fine.
