Great place to stay! We have booked the superior chalet for four people and it was absolutely amazing, would recommend it to everyone. The town of Monnickendam is charming, it's close to equally beautiful Volendam and Marken which are worth the visit. You can easily park your car near the chalet, the neighborhood is calm with typical Duch atmosphere. The easiest way to get to Amsterdam is by bus, which goes like 10 minutes to Amsterdam North station. The chalet it self is cozy, clean and you have there everything you could possibly need for your stay.
Thank you family Van Duuren, we will come back!:)

Location was amazing right on the harbour front. The staff were so friendly and welcoming, and breakfast was wonderful. Beds were very comfy and shower perfect.
One reviewer had said that it was noisy and there was a bar around the corner that we could hear a bit of music from with the windows open but it didn't disrupt our sleep and it was closed by 12.
Very peaceful stay. Really loved our stay.

Very modern and clean. Had everything we needed. Reception staff very helpful and friendly. Next to a metro station, small supermarket and food court.
You should visit Monnickendam in April. The weather was inclement, rainy and cold, when I visited in early March. It's a wonderfully quaint, beautiful and quiet town with lovely architecture, a few shops and eateries and the last thing you'll see is other tourists.

A beautiful village 20minutes by public transport from the centre of Amsterdam.
The location is a quiet village but with plenty of restaurants and snacks available. There is a local supermarket and specialist artisan shops.
We ate at most of the restaurants alongside the canal. Harbour suits and Bobs are especially friendly and have good food.
As a base for a city break to Amsterdam it is perfect. You are close enough to enjoy the highlights, hustle and bustle of Amsterdam. The quiet easy pace of Monnickendam provides a pleasant contrast with its slower pace and tranquility.
We loved the location and accessibility! It was perfect for our stay with our mom and a private place to relax at the end of our trip. The space was bright and uncluttered with comfortable and plentiful seating in the living area. The outdoor table was an added bonus and parking was easy. The old town/waterfront was an easy stroll, grocery as well. We would definitely return to delightful Monnickendam.
Paula is so kind to pick us up with big luggage at the bus stop and send us back.
The place is around by green area and overlook small lake. The room is large and clean with small kitchen and refrigerator. The bathroom is also large and no problem with the drainage. Heater works well too.
At Monnickendam, there is a good grocery for fresh food. It is near the bus stop, not the property.
The room was very easily accessible by public transport, just 20 min. bus ride from Amsterdam centraal.
The owners are really friendly and helpful.
We had a very nice time over the weekend.
The views from the room are super beautiful.
The town is a very small, quiet, beautiful town away from hustle and bustle of Amsterdam.
We will definitrly visit again.
Amazing location, outside the city noise but just close enough to make a trip to Amsterdam and easy inexpensive Uber ride. The house is just amazing, everything is clean and new, nicely decorated, comfortable beds, and fully equipped kitchen! It made our stay unforgettable. 7 adults slept and relaxed really comfortably!
It may be an orange monster but it's the cutest orange monster. The decoration adorable, the note from our captain, the snacks, everything was adorable.Everything was well explained no bad surprises. The surprisingly easy access to Amsterdam with public transport. And even if the bathroom is separate it was pretty clean.
Staff was very nice and available.
The hotel is located in a nice city near Amsterdam which is perfect. There’s also a lot of places near the hotel to have a good time.
The room was clean and comfortable, with everything we needed and fresh beverages in the fridge. I would totally go back.
A property dated 1697 is hard to find. This is a quaint heritage hotel in a quiet offbeat location situated in a quiet quaint town located on the shore, some 35 kms from Amsterdam. The staff is excellent and go out of their way to make you welcome and assist you in every way possible.
Monnickendam is a historical seaside place with slowly pace,we are enjoy the room decorated and brochures of surrounding area introduction.

We had an amazing stay at Fortuna Spinoza! The host is really nice and made a delicious breakfast in the morning. The rooms are very stylish and clean. Monnickendam is very pretty and the hotel is close to a bus stop with frequent busses to Amsterdam.
Monnickendam is a town a little ways to the north Amsterdam. It doesn't make Lonely Planet, but it should. We wanted to stay in the area for a couple of days, and Waterland Suite was good, with small kitchenette. A supermarket is quite close.
Perfect Location for a summer holiday. Located in the heart of Monnickendam. Close to lovely cafes and restaurants for outdoor dining. Fifteen minute walk to beaches and parkland on the beautiful Ijsalemer.
Fantastic location for trips into Waterland and Amsterdam. Monnickendam is also very pretty! Really nicely furnished and fully equipped chalet that hosted us as a family of 4. very nice!
The location in the heart of Monnickendam.
The owners, who are delightful and nothing is too much trouble for them.
