We like the slightly out of town locations as it is quiet and we need secure motorcycle parking. It was quiet and whilst the bikes were off the road, they were not as secure as we would have liked - that said, it was a nice neighbourhood.
The room was very clean and we loved the outside toilet/shower - quirky but really functional. No hot water but certainly warm enough.
No AC but the fan/s were more than enough for a comfortable night. Mosquitto net over the bed.
Good hanging space and shelves.
Pool was very very nice. Bungalows are hidden from each other with great landscaping.

El convento is a quiet place and very nice to just sip your coffee in the morning before heading out. The staff has been very helpful when I arrived at 9 pm hurt after a descent of a volcano at sunset. Many thanks!

Power to the city went out for about one hour…only a few businesses actually had a back-up generator and/or candles but everyone seemed to take it in stride.

Beautiful, historic and young student city.
Beautiful, historic and young student city. Wish I stayed longer here! Museum of the Revolution explained the history and context of Leon so well, would highly recommend. Try some street food too like elote! The atmosphere is the city was the nicest in all of Nicaragua.

The old part of town is a quaint colonial place with a lot of restaurant options; I recommend the small food tour offered to see the market and learn about the different fruits and dishes. The location is perfect for a quick visit to the beaches that are less than 30 minutes away, you can catch a taxi easily there.

Cathedral is a trip of its own.
Cathedral is a trip of its own. Walking on the rooftops, and also try to visit the catacombs. Going down the cero Negro volcanoes is fun just a 30 min hike up. Nearby beaches are nice clean not crowded with plenty of activities to do.

Very beautiful. The very best thing about Nicaragua was the People. So kind and amazing.
Other places I visited Backpackers Inn Boutique Hostel in Granada. Lus was amazing. The rooms are beautiful and Quiet. Excellent breakfast.
The staff at La Posada del Doctor was also so wonderful, specifically Melissa, Christian and Christian’s Mother who cooked us a wonderful breakfast.

If you have time, take a day trip to the Flor de Cana Rum Factory, only 45 minutes outside the city to the north. You have to schedule it .
Great hotel right in the center of Leon. It is an old colonial style building with an inner garden where you eat breakfast in the morning. The staff was very attentive and made us welcome right from the beginning. Very tasty breakfast with French baguette and freshly brewed coffee.
Everything was exactly as seen in the pictures.
Parking is at the casino opposite the hotel.
The hotel was fabulous! It really is an escape from the hustle and bustle of downtown Leon. It’s very relaxing and it is more like a museum to be honest. It’s a stunning hotel just to wander around in. The rooms were large and very comfortable with great airco. The staff were always very friendly, polite and helpful. I’d definitely stay here again 😃 Great restaurant too!
The hostel felt very homey and the staff were very friendly so when I had to stay an extra nite in Leon I gladly extended my stay here. The ensuite bathroom was exceptionally large and beautiful. The breakfast was also very tasty and when I told them I had to check out very early the following day they left me a cup noodle on my bed which I thought was very thoughtful.
A good option for a stay in Leon. I stayed in an AC private room. I had to turn off the AC at night as it got too cold and only used the fan. The host, I think the manager/owner, let me check in early and was very hospitable. The pool is small but clean. it is refreshing after a hot day of exploring. The little market in the lobby was convenient.
Great hostel in Leon! It it slightly away from the busy square so nice & quiet, only a 5 minute walk into the centre. Good kitchen for cooking if needed. Yummy breakfast included in the morning with a variety of options. Various balconies to sit and relax. A small pool but we didn’t use it. Also a cool little outdoor gym on the upstairs terrace!
The dorm was big, with big lockers for every bed. There were also fans for every bed.
The hostel has a nice kitchen too, and they serve a good breakfast every morning.
It is very close to all the main attractions in Leon.
It was low season when I visited so the hostel was pretty quiet, but the staff was really nice and made my time there fun!
The facilities are great, the location and the pool. The only thing is that if you plan to stay on the cheaper areas it won’t be in the hotel but at at house around the corner which is good but it doesn’t have AC in the room. Take this into consideration as the weather in the city is very hot and you will have an uncomfortable night

Most of the guys speak english and if not they will do there absolute best to help.
The breakfast was great and they even prepared a 'on the go' breakfast/lunch for us because we had to leave in the night (3.30am)

The location is perfect for exploring Léon, which we unfortunately did not get to do this time but have before. This is a great space for families or solo travelers. The staff is incredible and the family who own the soda and market next door are incredible and make a delicious traditional breakfast.
Everything was absolutely perfect. Big, comfy room, clean big pool, central location (5 minutes walk to all tourist attractions), and VERY strong WiFi. Very pleasant place to stay in Leon for a digital nomad.
