We loved the animals, we think the staff was superb & very friendly & helpful. The premises was well maintained, can see that the furniture is a bit outdated & need a bid of attention, but overall it was a experience of a lifetime!

Omurenga, hotel in Omaruru

Omurenga offers luxurious accommodation with panoramic views of the Erongo Mountains, 35 km from Omaruru. The lodge offers a year-round infinity pool and relaxing lounge areas.

We stayed at Omurenga Lodge for two nights on our way to Etosha, and it was truly one of the highlights of our two-week trip through Namibia. Nestled in the Erongo Mountains, this lodge is wonderfully isolated, offering breathtaking views that simply can't be captured in photos. One could spend hours just sitting outside, soaking in the endless landscape! Each "room" is essentially a separate building, providing loads of privacy. Our room was massive, impeccably clean, and thoughtfully equipped with everything we needed, including mosquito sprays (though we never needed them). The large outdoor space was perfect for relaxing and enjoying the incredible scenery. The main building houses a lovely pool, again with that stunning view. Inside, there's plenty of room to relax and unwind. What really stood out to us, beyond the natural beauty, was the hospitality. The host and all the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. And the food—wow! It was hands down the best we had during our entire trip. Creative, perfectly executed, and absolutely delicious, the meals at Omurenga rivaled anything we've had in top-tier restaurants back at home. We also did the sundowner drive. While the wildlife sightings aren't as prolific as in other parts of Namibia, we still thoroughly enjoyed exploring the area, chatting with our wonderful guide, and witnessing a beautiful sunset from a scenic spot frequented by baboons. For us, Omurenga was the perfect place to relax and recharge before heading to Etosha. It’s a peaceful retreat that offers not only stunning views and comfort but also a warm, welcoming atmosphere. We’d definitely come back and highly recommend it to anyone traveling through this part of Namibia. Thank you to all the staff for making our stay so memorable!

Wonderful location, with a water source where zebras and oryx come to drink at night. The rooms are spacious and well-furnished. A mid-range lodge where it would have been worth staying for more days than we did, to explore the surroundings more leisurely.

    Omaruru was a lovely surprise.

Omaruru was a lovely surprise. It was a short trip to break our journey on the way to Swakopmund. Such a lovely, beautiful town with the loveliest and friendly people. Great restaurants with german cuisine, and very very safe. We walked around for hours at night and felt so safe.

The lovely grounds. The room was a little disappointing ..

The lovely grounds. The room was a little disappointing .. Looking into road entrance and neighbours open messy garden. Room quite small. Evening meal and breakfast were sub standard. They were very helpful and changed our booking dates, due to sickness that delayed us by a week.

I think this is one of the most beautiful boutique hotels/lodges I have ever been to! What a great service! The hostess is the kindest and most professional I have ever seen (she even managed to arrange some vegan food!!). The food she and her staff prepared was beyond amazing. Everything is done with impressive attention to detail - the room decor, the pool, just wow! The views are unbeatable, perfect for a romantic getaway! I will recommend this magical place to everyone I know!

Magical place, worthwhile driving the 1,5h on dirt roads coming from Omaruru. Surrounded by beautiful nature - passing through a reserve with black rhino, lion and leopard - seated on the mountain in absolute silence, except for the baboon calls. Excellent hopemade food for dinner and breakfast in a very romantic setting on the terrace overlooking the mountains. Beautiful lodge to stay in! Definitely a must see, must go, must stay place!

Breakfast was good and the staff were friendly. Although the restaurant was not open for dinner only 25 yards away was another hotel/restaurant that had a good choice of meal. The hotel had secure parking and it was very hard to hear traffic noise as it was not on a busy route.

The location was just beautiful and the design of the hotel is lovely. Highlight of the stay was the morning walk/drive with Dion. He was a hugely knowledgeable guide who was clearly passionate about his job. Kitchen tried to cater for vegan and vegetarian guest.
