A truly wonderful place for a quiet vacation, lovely beach for swimming, a short car ride to the Ilha de Mocambique which is fascinating. Fabulous food and the best service I've had in years of travel across 78 countries. Thank you Suzanne and Team. Great job.
Cabaceira Village is situated on a peninsula not far from Cabaceira Pequena and 18 km from Mossuril. Accommodation is offered in private rooms or in a dormitory room.

Ilha is a cute small island that has some nice history. Go to the fort and the museum. But take a hat/umbrella as it is HOT and SUNNY!
There aren't really beaches at Ilha, so you'll need to book an island tour. Lots of options for that...and I have nothing to recommend in terms of one over the other!
Plan to spend a day on Ilha itself and a day on the islands, and then a day to get there and a day to get back to Nampula.

It was my third time on the island and if I have the opportunity I will keep coming back. The uniqiness of the historic buildings, the turquois waters and the great food is just quite breath taking. Eat seafood at Karibu, Ancora d'Ouro, Feitoria - well most places are quite good! Biking around is an excellent choice. Sail to the islands! Walk into the old buildings and if you want to buy some retro style furniture there are guys around knowing how to hook you up. Stay 3-7 nights.
