Great place to stay in Kuala Tahan. The rooms are clean & comfortable and everything you need. We had breakfast as well which was very good and well priced (especially compared to the restaurants at the water). The staff was so friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend this!

The location was brilliant since we came and left by bus, it's right next to the bus station. If you drive there is ample parking out front.
Tea and coffee available in the room, makes for a lovely coffee to take to the table just outside the room to sip and get into gear. Absolute silence at night.

Super clean, comfy bed, good AC, complementary snacks. Also a hot/cold water dispenser, tables, and drying racks in the common areas. A quick 5 minute walk to the riverside to cross for the national park, and just a couple minutes away from several restaurants, convenience stores, and the shuttle bus stop.

Ann is a very energetic and enthusiastic person. The AC at night is a blessing. She stimulates people to talk to each other, instead of being smartphone zombies.

The night hikes were back to back groups so with crowds and noise no chance of seeing animals. You definitely should bring your own torch as you can't see where you are stepping and there are some slippery spots. Personally wouldn't do again.
The canopy was nice albeit very narrow with only 4 allowed on it at a time. You are not allowed to stop or take photographs. Having to focus on my footing and not being able to stop and look makes it just going for a walk.
Going through the rapids and getting wet is accomplished by guide literally rocking boat.
The stop at village was the best part of trip. Fascinating how fire was started and the use of blow gun which we go to try.

Kuala Tahan is a nice little village with just a few shops and restaurants. But of course the main thing to do is to go to the national park. We choose to do a one day tour, which we really enjoyed. You cross the river and there is the entrance where you get your permit. They inform you about everything and everyone was very nice. I really recommend doing a tour because you learn a lot about nature and living in the rainforest. The canopy walk was also so beautiful! You can do some things on your own however, for most of the trails you need a guide to accompany you. There were some challenging parts about the hike. You need to be fit to hike up and down in the humid climate. But it was a very nice challenge and I would recommend it to everyone!
If you want to eat out I recommend the floating restaurants down by the river. The people are really friendly and welcoming and the food is good, for a fair price!

We stayed 3 nights and had 2 days to explore which was fine to do both some day and night walks in the jungle as well as a river trip to the small waterfall. Crossing the river to actually get to the jungle site is very easier. You just go down to one of the floating restaurants and ask them to take you across. Fees are fixed at 1 RMB per person. Your entrance permit is valid for all days so make sure to keep it with you at all times - also when doing river cruises.

Like the staff! All very nice and helpful.
Like the staff! All very nice and helpful. We also had laundry done for seven people and it came back in a day and was very clean and organized. You can book excursions right from the lodge. You can drink the water, so would have liked a large water container to fill up on our own. They left two small bottles a day, but that is not enough and we had to purchase water. Good selection at breakfast. Bathroom was always hot, as no windows, just open to the wild, so had to keep door closed at all times.

Love the jungle.
Love the jungle. Fab eco forest. 4 days would be enough as quite limited trails/walking. Small village that offered limited restaurants- 3 - and the 4 shops sell mostly the same limited stuff, so you do need to take supplies. No animals seen, they keep quiet which is fine, it’s their territory. It is quaint tho, and enjoyed my time there. Would certainly recommend a visit.
There is hardly any better place to stay at Taman Negara. We even had a view (from the walkway in front of the room) on the river and the NP behind. All facilities are close by.
I don't want to put it in the "negative" category, but please do not expect luxury, comfort etc. The room was clean, the bed OK, and we had some power issues during the course of our stay. And it was exactly what we expected. We have talked to other visitors staying in other places and we seemed to be very lucky about everything.
Everything was absolutely wonderful! This is the perfect guest house to use as home base for a few days of hiking and exploring Taman Negara. The balcony is big and spacious with a sitting area and a rack to dry clothes (much needed after swimming in waterfalls and getting splashed on the boat). The room is so clean and spacious with a little sitting area for breakfast coffee. We were more comfortable here than in any other guest house in our month traveling in Malaysia. 11/10 would recommend!!!
I was a little bit sceptical about the included half board option but it turned out to be the best decision. There were quite a lot of options to choose from and it was delicious. Also I usually do not book tours from hotels due to overpricing but it seemed they have regullar price + it was a nice lift forward and backward in a Hilux trunk seats. My family also liked a very nice and maintained tropical garden.
Great location for Taman Negara Park, lots of eating options around.
Lovely and clean and well maintained, great value for money. Easy check-in, and we were kindly let in early as our room was ready.
Tea, coffee, and drinking water readily available.
Comfortable beds and pillows, good shower, and nice to have a seating area out the front of our room.
Thank you for a lovely stay.
Best location right by river and in town, super clean hostel (one of cleanest we've stayed in ever), nice communal outdoor space, Jason who runs it is super helpful and friendly. Nice privacy in beds with curtains and outlets/lights by bed. Overall one of best hostels I've stayed in and best value lodging available in Taman Negara.
+ Great location. Very walkable to the river, where you can cross to Taman Negara and where the floating restaurants are.
+ Swimming pool. The fact that it was there. Because we have a child. Children love pools.
+ Breakfast buffet. The fact that it was there. One care less in the morning. The quality was not that special though.
I am satisfied that my frozen food that I kept in their fridge at the backyard was in good condition (as no food was lost out of sudden) ....thank you so much... I brought frozen food to cook in the Kepayang Cave@Taman Negara, hence I need to store my food at their kitchen since the room does not come with fridge.
Great little guest house base for exploring Taman Negara. Comfy beds and decent facilities. The table and chairs outside have a view of the river and jungle and the host even let us keep our bags whilst we were off on a 2 day/ 1 night trek. Lots of space for drying wet clothes provided too.
the hostel owner - Ann, is super helpful and made my stay so much better. she works hard to keep the place clean and comfortable and is also super friendly! I would recommend booking any tours through her as she is really helpful and helps you make the most of your stay in Taman Negara
Great location to get to Taman Negara National park just across the river. Close to decent restaurants that aren’t too expensive. Good air conditioning and wifi. Friendly staff. Water dispenser. Decent bathroom. Decent price for the location.
Right in Taman Negara, no need to take a boat before starting the jungle walks. High ceilings make the cottage feel nice and spacious. Good buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinners.
Good location, cool design inside for the dorm all open so everyone is in the same room. You shouldn’t be spending much time in the room anyway in Taman Negara
