Quite possibly the most comfortable bed we've had in Mexico. Good pillows as well which seems hard to find! Loved the filtered water refill as hate all the plastic in bottles drinking water. They stored our bags after we checked out. Beautiful view from top floor balcony of sunset. Friendly and helpful staff. Good location, walkable to all main points and the collectivo to other areas around lake.

We visited a week after Día de los Muertos and the cemetery...

We visited a week after Día de los Muertos and the cemetery was fantastic, with the circular pyramids visible in the background. Shops where you can discover the local crafts, we plan to go back and explore the Purépecha ruins and more. We ended up eating carnitas and birria in the nearby town of Quiroga where there is a beautiful church. If you don’t have time to travel to all of the little towns circling Lake Patzcuaro you can find many of the various woven things, ceramics and wooden toys in these two towns. It’s on an easily driven alternate route from Patzcuaro to San Miguel de Allende, or Morelia.
