The location was fine. It’s close to all things in the town. The beach in front is not the best. Lots of garbage created by the locals. The room was spacious and the AC very cold which we like. The pool was nice. The staff overall was very polite and accommodating.

Had a terrific stay here. Beautiful grounds with a very pretty pool and a great view out to the ocean. Staff was excellent- very friendly and helpful. They even gave me a ride in the hotel golf cart to the bus station downtown. Really kind of them and had an outstanding experience staying there

The hotel staff was very pleasant and the rooms were as pictured. Having the Bonito Cafe downstairs was a major perk and where we started each morning. We were given a free yoga pass to The Rose Room which is upstairs, however we didn't have a chance to go, but I heard good things from fellow travelers who went. The large bathtub in the bathroom was very nice and the housekeeping staff did a great job cleaning the room. Location is about a 5-10 min walk into the main town, but very close to the beach (w/ the windows open you can hear the waves). The pool is also a nice touch and there was never anyone there. Overall pleased with our stay here!

Sayulita is a small but growing local beach town just minutes away from Puerto Vallarta, accessible by car or bus. It is a bustling town with a very relaxed vibe, perfect for couples or groups celebrating a birthday, anniversary or other important occasions. Sayulita is known as a party town and it has the vibe especially at night. But the local residents offer many options to connect with the local culture, art and crafts. There is a plethora of activities available to visitors both on land and sea. You will love the friendly people of Sayulita and be treated well especially if you embrace their culture and show gratitude for their service and care.

Sayulita has got to solve its sewage outflow problem as it affects the quality of the water on the beach. It's a beautiful seaside town with a great surf culture and a variety of bars, restaurants and entertainment venues. If they get their beach issues fixed it will be a little slice of paradise.

It’s a good mix between relaxation, activities, and partying. Main town is mixed with nightlife, hostels, restaurants etc. North is more chill, higher end hotels.
Unfortunately there is a bug/something ripping through the town causing a lot of people to get violently sick, myself included on day 5.

I think that you either really like Sayulita or you don't.
I think that you either really like Sayulita or you don't. There also seem to be recurring problems with the sewage/water system, and people getting sick there. There are a few nicer restaurants but not enough for a longer stay. Many of the less formal places required you to sit on the road or narrow sidewalk with cars, motorcycles, golf carts and the occasional horses going buy, with their inherent noise, dust and smells... There also is very little sidewalk room to walk there, so you constantly walking on the dirt/cobblestone roads, having to be vigilant and dodge traffic etc...

Interesting town, well worth 2-3 days visit.
Interesting town, well worth 2-3 days visit. Of course, as Seniors, we were not there for surfing, but enjoyed dinners at the beach and the chance to see beginners take lessons. We met many wonderful Mexican and North American tourists, and were always treated well by local Mexicans.
We had a wonderful stay at Casa Nawalli. The room was very comfortable and spacious. The garden was lovely and peaceful with lots of wildlife. We had an excellent meal at the sushi restaurant which forms part of the hotel. The continental breakfast was also delicious. Jerome was particularly helpful and was even kind enough to give us a lift to our next hotel. Casa Nawalli is located in a great area of Sayulita and we took advantage of the near-by yoga studios and eateries.
The location, views, and limited number of rooms was great. The town itself can feel crowded at times, so it was nice to be separate from the craziness. Also super close was playa de los muertos, which felt more local and less crowded than the Sayulita beaches. They had food and drinks services and you could rent chairs for the day. Only a 7 min walk from the hotel. I also really enjoyed their drinks and food, although it was on the pricey side. Both chefs were great.
The pool at Puerto Sayulita was incredible! There were more facilities than we expected with couches, hammocks and shaded areas. The staff were helpful and kind. They upgraded us for free upon arrival which was a bonus to have 2 beds instead of a bed and a pull out couch. It is the perfect distance from the center of town to get away a bit, yet we walked to and from town multiple times a day with no issues. I would 10/10 recommend and stay again!
The staff was very nice and helpful. In general, the hotel is clean (or at least appears that way - everyone we talked to had gotten sick, so whether that was from the ocean, restaurants, or just norovirus on everyone and everything - we're not sure) and the rooftop pool is nice with great loungers (go up early to snag one for the day) and you can order food from nearby restaurants and have it brought to you. Also nice to have a bar at the pool.
Location is perfecto to all the nite life in town, to the beach, and to the shops & restaurants. And it’s quiet.
The real Mexico vacation with the comfort of a clean and really nice quaint hotel. Alejandro and Enrique run the desk and they are the absolute best! The house keeping girls are beautiful and so kind. Every request is met with a smile and “no problemo senora”
This is where we will always stay in Sayulita
The location is perfect, right on the beach.
The bungalow is very cozy and clean, and personnel is helpful and friendly. Walking distance to downtown Sayulita. We enjoyed massages in the massage salon at the hotel, also highly recommended.
Very quiet at night. You can easily take a bus to get to the airport for 50 pesos. Excellent experience, we would like to come back again.
The hotel has a cafe attached for breakfast and easy access during the day and night to filtered water which is excellent. The staff were helpful and friendly. Nice hot showers and the beds were comfortable.
The hotel is 7 minutes out of the main town which means it quiet in the evening if you are looking for a less busy place to stay. I would definitely stay here again.
Staff were happy and very helpful, check in and out was smooth, pool deck and view were great. Limited parking in Sayulita and they have a small private parking garage. Beach restaurant was great. Location to central area is only a short walk. Codes to front gate and room, you don't have to carry a room key. Overall a very nice hotel!
The property is absolutely beautiful and great value. The host helped us out a lot, and coordinated nice activities for dios los muertos. This small boutique hotel was charming. The heated pool with ocean view and yoga studio were the best. We are even considering booking out the entire resort for a family trip in the future.
Our stay at Casa de la Ballena was wonderful. Martin was super welcoming and accommodating. The free breakfast offering was generous. The grounds were immaculately kept. The hotel is a short 5min walk from the beach and downtown Sayulita which I appreciated because it was quiet enough but still close to the action.
Great hotel - nice large well appointed comfortable room, beautiful private pool and unbeatable location. On the beach and 4 minutes walk to town. Friendly and accommodating staff team. What a find. My wife and I will be coming back!
It was our third stay here which should be enough of an endorsement! Our favorite hotel in Sayulita. Scroll down to see some of my other reviews if you're interested to know why. Thanks Regina, as always!
options.Variety of food options. Enjoyed the location - walking distance to center of town or step out the rear of the hotel onto the beach. Take your pick! Sayulita is a lively place to visit with
I can't believe the price for what you get. It was such a nice and spacious place. Comfortable beds. Super hot showers. All the comforts of a nice hotel for a very low price!
Location was the only thing that was nice, right in the heart of Sayulita-this was also a disadvantage, as
the hotel room was extremely noisy due to the street life
