The owner/manager was waiting for us and checked in, even though we came by bus much later than expected, about 10 p.m. far from the deadline for check in. She was also very helpful whenever we asked anything, including a trip to Bonampac/Yaxchilan. Good breakfast to our liking. The hotel is beautiful and centrally located within walking distance from the bus station and the central street and square. Many nice, inexpensive cafes and restaurants in this street.

The hotel is really well kept and the staff & maintenance is amazing! Our dietary restrictions were well taken care of & the food itself was really tasty, which was hard to get as vegetarians in the region. The rooms also were really spacious and amazing, and made you want to spend time in them. However, would have to say that the hotel is on the more expensive side in general.

Enjoyed visiting the ruins at Palenque, well worth seeing as they were in more of a tropical setting than some of the ruins we visited around Mexico City and it is still permitted to climb up to the top of some of the ruins. While visiting the ruins it was also possible to take a short jungle walk back down to the entrance. The town of Palenque itself was quite pretty with plenty of places to eat and the people were very friendly and helpful. We also took a trip out to Misal Ha and Agua Azul waterfalls which were interesting and fun as it is possible to swim in these areas.

I didn’t spend much time in the town, I was there for the ruins. Definitely take the tour though the jungle to see the ruins that are still covered with trees. Climb through the ancient Mayan Aqua duct, see the monkeys and try eating some termites. The whole experience in the jungle adds immensely to the site.
My guide was Victor, he speaks Spanish and English, very knowledgeable, well worth the money.

We stayed one night in town to visit the ruins
- had a good coffee
- nice evening walk in the town
- farmacies availeble
The ruins of Palenque was beautifull, due to construction/care-taking we could nog visist al the temples. I was sick at the time, but there were enough toilets on inside and outside the domain.
There is a second part more into the jungle where you can see more wild animals but my body was not up for that. As far as we could understand it does take a tour to do this second part.

You can spend weeks in that region easily, because there are too many beautiful things to visit and do. Waterfalls, Maya ruins, hours and hours of hiking in the jungle is all possible and must do. Palenque and Chiapas state offers lifetime adventures. Can rental is essential as the public transport is not really safe for tourists.

The big attraction for tourists to go to Palenque are the Mayan ruins nearby. The ruins are not that impressive. At the time of our visit, the area you could walk around was restricted to only the large buildings. Every few feet was a vendor selling all the same things as the neighbor vendor. This made it feel so commercialized and distracted from being able to enjoy the atmosphere of the ruins. Tikal blows this place away. The museum was pretty good. The town has a few shady blocks with some excellent restaurants in the tourist district, but the rest of the town is not all that special.
Well maintained, beautiful grounds, lush jungle, nice pool, nice hammocks, we were in a private room with private bathroom but the shared facilities seemed really nice! There’s a little area to wash clothes by hand, which we made use of. There is also a laundry service provided by the hotel I believe. Bidets in the toilets, faaaancy! Food at restaurant was ok, service was excellent - room service available. Staff in general were great.
This place is really lovely, a quiet oasis in the jungle on the edge of Palenque town. A semi-detached bungalow was clean and comfortable, breakfast was very good, there are a couple of restaurants for dinner in walking distance. It is only a few minutes drive to the ruins. And there are also the rescued monkeys in their own enclosure in the garden, you can visit them and the staff are happy to tell you more if you are interested.
Wow this place was the best hotel we stayed at on our trip to Mexico! We drove ourselves from San Cristobal which was fun but slow - ignore the articles saying it is unsafe, they are out of date.
The jungle and lake and pool area are special and unique and the room and bed were fantastic, get the upgraded room if you can afford it! only a few km from the ruins and an animal sanctuary.
This hotel is in one of the best locations in Palenque (La Cañada) with lots of restaurants nearby, trees and quietness, yet just a short walk from the main center of town. The staff are friendly, rooms and hotel very clean, there's a pool and all other general amenities including wifi, TV, and a restaurant on premises that can serve you in the pool area.
We had a lovely stay at Hotel Chablis, in August 2023. Lovely, large room with balcony, impeccably clean (cleaned everyday), friendly, helpful service, and lovely pool. My family (me and my children aged 15 and aged 12) had a lovely time and would go back again.
Good location, close to ADO bus station and other restaurants and cafes.
Perfect spot 10 minutes from the bus station. We had a cold AC room, comfortable beds and free water refills. We explored Agua Azul and the Ruins. The staff was kind and held our bags after we checked out until our night bus to San Cristobal. Perfect place for a quick stay in Palenque. Muchas Gracias to the staff
Great location - next to tropical jungle, nevertheless in the centre of Palenque. Room was very clean, plenty of space. Relaxed atmosphere, very comfortable. We enjoyed preparing the sundowner in the kitchen and watching the jungle awakening at the end of the day. Great environment, many restaurants nearby.
The pool is great and directly to the jungle. The staff is very kind. The rooms are as shown in the pictures.
The Maya Ruins close nu are absolutely worth a visit. It was mindblowing!
The birds, Agoeti, squirls and butterflies in and around the hotel made the stay complete.
Everything was wonderful!!
Rooms squeaky clean!
Staff super friendly!
Breakfast made to order was heavenly.
Water was hot (just need to wait a few minutes for it- which is very typical all over Mexico.
Location only a few blocks off the square but very quiet at night.
Very safe.
Peaceful, quirky, artistic. Adriana has a beautiful piece of paradise tucked away on the side of a lush tranquil pasture. It was a pleasure to stay here. Adriana said it was our hotel, and meant it. True hospitality is exceedingly rare. We treasure it when we come across it.
The pool is great! Big and lots of fun features. The rooms were really comfortable and had air conditioning. the staff were super attentive and helpful. the surrounding jungle is beautiful. and super close to the palenque ruins so really easy to pop out to see them.
This hotel is located between Palenque and the ruines. You can arrive by coletivo during the day, but at night you have to take a taxi. It has a pool and the rooms are very confortable.
A very quite place near Palenque with spacious rooms surrounded by the jungle.
The staff is very kind, we had dinner and breakfast at the restaurant and it was delicious
The location was great, and the parking was inconvenient, but once we found parking, walking the square and being able to return to the hotel was good.
