We ended up spending 4 days in La Paz and enjoyed our stay.
We ended up spending 4 days in La Paz and enjoyed our stay. We moved to Hotel Baja Club near the beach and it was a great decision. The staff at Hotel Baja Club arranged a boat tour which included snorkeling, lunch on a small nearby island and the option to swim alongside a group of sea lions. Local businesses, restaurants and shops make us feel welcome. It was a great place to get away for a few days and learn at the same time.

I didn't have much time, just two days.
I didn't have much time, just two days. Would say that that's not enough to experience all the great things it has to offer. On my final night in the Sunset Hostel I met Samuel, host and nature guide. Apart from being a great and fun guy with tons of energy, he gave me all the tips I needed for my stay on the peninsula. And for eating out in town. Made my stay! Would have loved to go on a tour with him, from the stories he told. Also had a great experience swimming with whale sharks through Hamza of Baja Wild Adventures..Highly recommended too! Love La Paz and will return for sure

I live here part time so ... a little different angle than a visitor. This spot is actually right in front of my house (which I had rented out thinking we would be out of town) I love it, it's down a ways and quieter , closer to the nice beaches. However, you will want a car or ride share to get around and get stuff. There is an Oxxo and abbarotes store up the hill for basics. But those who want to get out and walk to restaurants and the malecon might want to stay elsewhere. It's an awesome walk to the malecon but not for everyone, a mile down (and back up) a steep hill. Lots of decent restaurants around, the one closest to here would be El Molinito and a great place for breakfast would be Vrentino in the Hotel El Moro. Many love the drinks and you can even pick up fruit at Cocos y Pinas Locas .

La Pazis a low-rise city with the cathedral and a few hotels poking their heads up.
It is definitely not Cabo, and that’s the way the locals like it and why we liked it. Mexico in general isn’t the bargain it used to be—where is?—but as Canadians it compared with prices at home.
We visited El Coromuel beach twice. Balandra post Covid has rules governing the number of people and Tecolote is a challenge to get to if like us you don’t have a car. But Ubers are real cheap.
A shout out to Allende Books, an English language bookstore where the attentive Sylvie is happy to chat. We even played and sang with a group of geezer guitarists who meet every Saturday at 1pm. Very welcoming group 😄
The fact that it’s difficult to get to with no Canadian airlines flying in meant we had to absorb the extra expense of hiring a car and driver from Day Trip. But it was worth it to have met Jose who could not have been more courteous and informative. Through him we were so fortunate to attend an amazing choir concert in the cathedral. Never to be forgotten.
Despite the challenge of getting there, we loved the place and the people. We are already planning to return, this time for a bit longer.

Stayed in L.P. in February during the Carnival: lots of people, entertainment/music and all types of food sold along the length of Malecon every evening. Felt very safe anywhere I went.
Daily excursions to Balandra/El Tecolote and hiking the surrounding hills were a highlight.
Temperatures in mid 20s C; water in the ocean pleasant enough to enjoy a swim.

Vibrant seaside city in Baja Sur - with a low key atmosphere and a multitude of options for dining, entertainment and outdoor activities. A complete respite from Cabo and a much more authentic taste of Mexico. The waterfront malecon is the focus of the community and offers exceptional views (and sunsets) while the city and old town offer much to explore.
Beautiful beaches and numerous watersports to take advantage of in the immediate area. A great base for world class snorkeling/diving, wildlife (whales, whale sharks, sea lions) and adventure (hiking, sand boarding, ATV's, etc.)
This is a boutique hotel that is an exceptional beauty. The outside of the building did not reveal the gem inside. The rooms are lovely. The bathroom shower and amenities were above and beyond. Plenty cool at night and the most comfortable mattress I have had in a long time. I took pictures of the pillow because I could finally sleep without needing to prop pillows and fluff all night long. The pool was so beautiful and secluded right beyond the check in area. It was a slice of heaven at the end of my trip.
The staff is very attentive. Upon arriving, we were greeted as if we had just come home.
The breakfast was abundant with local flavors, from papaya to pazole. Coffee was served by friendly faces who were attentive to your needs.
The hotel itself is situated in a most convenient location. Shopping and the malecon are just a few blocks away.
We recommended Hotel Catedral to our friends and family. In fact, our son stayed there for his birthday.
This is a beautiful boutique hotel right on the Malecon in the middle of everything. Rooms are well-appointed and comfortable, with a gorgeous view of the bay just across the street. Our concierge Santiago went above and beyond in his helpfulness and friendliness. Santiago recommended a number of restaurants for us (we loved Central 1535 for breakfast!) and was very responsive when I had trouble connecting to Wi-Fi.
The full breakfast was wonderful. Also, it was nice to have beach towels available from the front desk. Noise was a problem our first night with music blaring nearby until 4 am. However, the second night it was quiet. Restaurants and the Malecon are within walking distance. La Paz has everything you could need. I loved the art work on the walls at this hotel.
Beautiful property in a perfect location. Super close to all the buzz and life of La Paz, while being a quiet oasis to relax at the end of the day. Luisa is a very helpful and welcoming host. The breakfast is delicious. Although sadly we missed a few being early risers (breakfast is from 9). Would highly recommend this property to anyone looking to explore La Paz.
Hola, all and all the Hotel was great, we had a very good stay! The breakfast, the food was delicious we all enjoyed it, thank you. We live in San Jose Del Cabo, and when we visit La Paz again, we will stay at Araisa Palmira, very comfortable! Thank you and Merry Christmas, Happy New Year "2023"! Apolinar Perez Meza y Maria Del Rosario Bravo (Rose)
We really liked the apartment! It was very clean, everything looked new and modern. It looks just like in the photos. We had towels, kitchen equipment, soap, shampoo, toothpaste, first-aid kit, big bottle of water, they thought of everything. It was worth to stay there and we will definitely stay there again when we will be back in La Paz.
loved this place!! the room was clean with a king bed and great aircon. the breakfast was the best with lots of options and a chef making omelettes and pancakes etc for free. the breakfast staff were soo good and always topping up your coffee. there was live music too with the breakfast. the hotel also offers free tennis.
This is our third time staying here. For the price; the location, views and size of the rooms are a great value! The hotel is quite old, and the bathrooms are slightly musky, but if you’re looking for a value stay in La Paz to explore the city and beaches, would highly recommend Pekin.
This boutique hotel is beautiful and well maintained. I was going to get an upgrade to a bigger suite but I didn’t want to do stairs. Needless to say we stayed in a first floor room and the place was very welcoming. The beds downstairs were small and firm but we made it work.
The location is great to visit La Paz and the apartment is very close to the city centre. The area is very quiet, with a lot of options to go eating out nearby. The apartment is pretty, clean and it has everything you'll need for a short stay.
The sea view (Right in front of the sea, just across the Malecon of La Paz), and the recent refurbishment of the room. We appreciated 2 bottles of water every day complimentary.
We liked the kitchen area with fridge and cooking plates.
The hotel was as advertised. Nice sized rooms. Staff was helpful. Breakfasts were excellent and they had a nice variety. Location is very central and easy to walk to most places on the malecon. We'd definitely stay here again.
It was in a quiet place and very close, walking distance to the beach. The hotel is very beautiful, is great they got that beautiful historical house and transform it into a beautiful boutique hotel.
Very good location. It is close to the main touristic area of La Paz but not so close to be noisy. The hotel has good facilities for the price and staff is very nice.
