The hosts Nina and her husband were so hospitable and friendly. They made sure we had everything we needed.

The hosts were amazing and went above and beyond to help us..the apartment was very new and comfortable. The pool was a great bonus and very welcome after walking up the hill. I would highly recommend. It's only a 5 min walk downhill to get to the supermarket and a number of good restaurants.. the bed was very comfortable too..

Nice small place, great with family with children.
Nice small place, great with family with children. Small beaches, nice and quiet. City center is small but has a nice park and you can find great cafe with excellent cakes. There are restaurants on the seashore that has nice food.
There is also museum "Rimski mozaici" that we didn't visit cause it wasn't working but we heard it is great.

Risan is a small town though located close to Kotor and it only takes half an hour on a car from/to Tivat and pretty same distance to Herceg Novi.
The tourist growth hasn't influenced Risan as much as the other places in Montenegro coastline. This makes it very attractive unless you fancy crowded beaches and noisy big city vibe. Risan is like a boutique hotel as opposed to resort chains, it's small with a personal note and sense of intimacy and privacy, unique character and heritage.
It took us about an hour walk by seaside to get to Perast. There are also buses going there as well as to Kotor every hour if you want to leave car home or take a bus or boat tour. Beaches are pebble same as everywhere in Montenegro. There are not many hotels at all but nice apartments. We stayed at lovely Mint&Rose apartment and would not swap this accommodation for any hotel experience.
Restaurant Risan was our favorite place to dine. Delicious fresh seafood much recommended
Clean sea water, nice food, farmers markets each Sunday, friendly people and service

Risan is a nice small village, perfect if you are looking to spend a peaceful holiday. It’s a good location to explore the other villages in the Kotor bay. If you are looking for action then you better spend your time in Kotor or Herceg Novi. In these towns you can also book excursions because the travel agency Amfora In Risan is not very useful, they couldn’t help us with anything.

Risan is a nice, cozy and tranquill town in a farther corner...
Risan is a nice, cozy and tranquill town in a farther corner of the Kotor-Risan bay, laying at the foot of Orjen mountain and ornamented with a few attractions of relative importance, for instance, an ancient villa with some curious mosaics of the Roman period (2nd century AD), newer excavation sites between the hotel Teuta and the Risan school (I have searched for it on the Internet, but was unable to figure out what time these ruins belonged to), a nice Orthodox church, and a picturesque Banja monastery (built in the 17th century) located approximately 1 km from the town.
Risan's beaches are quite small and do not seem to be well-cared-for (e.g. there is a plenty of weed on the seabed on some of them), though my overall impression of them is quite good. The sea life is much more poor than that in Ponta Seljanovo, Tivat, where we used to stay in the past years: for example, in Risan we have found nearly no remarkable seashells (but no sea-urchins as well, which is rather good).
As to the climate, it seemed to us much milder, than in Tivat (not that stifling hot).
We also liked a free open air concert of a local orchestra organized on July, 12 (Peter and Paul day in the Orthodox tradition, a big fest for the locals). It was really nice and touching to sit in the evening square and listen to the sounds of their relaxing music.
The inhabitants are friendly, the restaraunts (among which we would like to single out Mali Hipnos, which has a Facebook food delivery service) woffer a good range of meat meals for a reasonable price, and Amfora, the local tourist agency, provides the tourists with fairly nice excursions.

Restaurants, local shops, the local market and the Fashion Beach in the vicinity which makes the perfect location and choice for a family in my opinion. Parking also free in Risan which was good for us. As we had a rent a car with us we drove to Kotor, Budva, Perast, Herceg Novi and Tivat which was just around 30-35mins drive from Risan.

We absolutely had a fantastic time at the property and great hospitality. Great location and very easy access to downtown, restaurants and grocery stores. The yard is landscaped beautifully. The house had everything we needed and was very clean. Nikola helps you with everything and gives you a lot of interesting information about Risan. We’d definitely stay at this property again and highly recommend it. Special thanks to Nikola for making it such a wonderful experience for all of us.
I appreciated the location (150 meters from the sea) and from the bus stop taking us to herceg novi, kotor, budva etc. The sea is very clean and beautiful in the middle of mountains of the Kotor bay. Risan is a small and calm village without many places to eat/drink that are most of time expensive.

The hotel staff especially the reception were extremely helpful and kind.

I have to admit that this is one of the few places in Montenegro that I would like to come back to.
The style of interior design, cleanness and kindly host Marko are highlights. The house is integrated in the historical old part of Risan basically consist of one cobbled street and has good old times flavour with modern interior. Refurbishment done with best materials, passion and knowledge. The small pool was nice for relaxing after the beach if not occupied by other guests.
Eco House Risan is for sure THE BEST accomodation in Montenegro. You have a very comfortable, clean and well equipped apartment (even a toster in the kitchen! ) and a beautiful terrace with sunbeds, grill and shower (!). Besides we found a nice "welcome pack" - some eggs, bread, butter, home made jam and a bottle of wine. Thank You - Anke and James!
The building and apartment are new and well refurbished. The bathroom is spacious and the bed is big. The apartments are located just in front of the sea, and you have great views (if you are not on the ground floor). The cleaning service comes every day. The BEST, the breakfast is included for free in Hotel Conte in Perast every morning.
Two great balconies with sea views. Lovely and quiet. Shaded in the afternoon when hot which was good. Steep but short walk down to the sea, suitable for snorkelling. Risan beach (nice), good restaurants and shops only a few minutes drive away- the town was quieter than some on the coast with easy parking and a relaxed atmosphere.
Risan is probably a good stop over place to explore different areas. This small village is not really a destination.
That said, the flat was a 2 minute walk to the sea front and a brasserie right on the water.

The house is very well stocked with everything you could need and extra towels, blankets, pillows. It was a really comfortable stay and I wish we had booked a longer stay here. Definitely recommend!
Great place to stay with your family. Accommodation is great, clean with all things that one family needs in the house. Clean bed sheets and towels, hygiene products, kitchen supplies... beachfront, very clean and warm water. Risan is not big place, it is very calm and suitable for family.
Really great location, 2 minutes from the sea. Walking distance to some other beach areas. This is a good budget option for visiting Perast. Walking distance to Perast, sidewalk the entire way. Risan much quieter and more of a local feel. Room was spacious, host was helpful and kind.
Really liked my stay in Risan, perfect getaway from busy and noisy Old Town. Way more relax than neighbouring town Perast, which is way more touristy. Really enjoyed staying at this location; nice view on Kotor Bay, everything is new inside the apartment, really good value for money.
Lovely, modern apartments with comfy beds in an old traditional house. Risan is beautiful, away from the crowds in Kotor or Budva but still close enough to get there by bus or car (Kotor 20min, Perast 10min, Budva 1h).

The apartment is beautiful. Located almost in Risan park in a very peaceful area. Very clean and comfortable with absolutely all the amenities. The terrace is under the trees and never really too warm. It has a parking place in front of the apartment.
