Good value safari driver arranged by the staff in the hotel ( tip. we paid the driver $40 for the driver, and bought tickets on arrival at the Udawalawe park entrance. you can pick up a local volunteer guide in the car park as you buy your tickets who can talk through the animals and park detail. we then tipped the guide around $10. The total for the 3 hour safari worked about $40 per person)

The room was HUGE, as was the bathroom. We had so much space, and a great view. A juice was provided on arrival which was a nice touch as well. The host was super helpful in organising a tuk tuk for us when we wanted to go visit our friends down the road. The location is only about a 5-10 minute drive from the park entrance, which is super convenient as well.

I absolutely loved my one night stay at Ravidu's Safari Lodge. The people were great and friendly. They helped me with any of my questions. Both room and bathroom are clean. The room itself was spacious and perfect for an overnight stay. Don't forget dinner: very tasty!
The safari they organized was great and we had a very friendly driver. I can totally recommend this place.

The hosts were incredible, really welcoming, helped us to organize a Safari last minute with them (really recommended but the way - not the tourist typical tour). The owner er very nice and kind - he also offers safari tours in a jeep. He knows a lot about the animals and REALLY puts an effort in to it.
The food is delicious and huge portions.
You can see animals in the garden, sometimes monkeys and leguana. :-)

Ravindu (the manager/owner) was very welcoming and made me feel safe and comfortable. The room is spacious, modern and beautifully decorated. There is a unique and stylish outside area of the property that looks onto nature. Perfect for relaxing.
Out of all the places I stayed in Sri Lanka this was my favourite. Ajun also organised a safari for me for a fair price.
Breakfast is served at the property which was the best I had in all the properts I stayed in Sri Lanka. Lunch and dinner are also available for a very reasonable price and it was absolutely delicious 😋 😋.
Ajun really went above and beyond to make my stay a memorable one in Udawalawe without being invasive of my space.
I got to meet his mother and father and brother who were also beautiful, kind and caring people. ❤️ I feel like I have a family to return to when I return to Sri Lanka.

I stayed here a little longer than a few days, therefore I can say without exaggeration that Rayan as a host is one of the best I have met in Sri Lanka A great example of sincere friendliness and hospitality, decency and honesty. It was the perfect place to relax before and after the Safari in Udawalawe National Park. Ideally two nights are perfect. Our accommodation (luxury tent) was really nice, well designed and comfortable, a plus was the outside bathroom with jungle view. Also this place has everything inside, two swimming pools, a spa (quite pricey for Sri Lanka) and an exceptional restaurant with very good prices too. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choices. We’d definitely recommend to our friends visiting the area.
Owners are a lovely and friendly couple. They try their best to make you feel comfortable. The room is cozy and clean with a nice garden. Breakfast is amazing Sri Lanka style with a lot of fruit. They allow me to have my breakfast after the safari tour. Location is great coz it’s close to the Safari. I booked the morning safari tour through the owner which is fantastic. The driver made all-out effort to find the animals, the guide provided lots of information about the National Park and the animals.
We booked this place on the day of staying as our original hotel fell through + we couldn’t be more grateful, as this place was absolutely amazing. The staff were so friendly and helpful, giving us cold towels and refreshments upon arrival. We then got shown personally to our room which was so beautiful + comfy. The pool was amazing too. They had a restaurant which we got given such delicious food. They even offered tours to Udawalawe National Park- only 20 mins away from the hotel.
The room is incredibly good, the best we had in Sri Lanka so far. Seeing the monkeys from our room was attractive for our son. Janith and his family have a really special place.
The safari organiser with them works really well and the driver Suhesh, was incredible, he tried hard to find the animals and explain everything to us.
The breakfast after the safari was another plus, it was really tasty and the best one so far.

Actually wonderful stay at this lovely little hotel. When we arrived we were pleasantly welcomed by staff. This place is very close to udawalawa national park. Our room was very clean with comfortable beds and bathrooms. The next morning we were served delicious sri lankan breakfast. While our stay was short and it was very memorable. We watched elephant's and many of birds...Great value for money. Just a few minutes walk to the Elephant Orphanage,
The hosts were amazing to say the least! They were so friendly and helpful. We went on a safari arranged by the host and it was spectacular! We saw at least 60-70 elephants, many of which were only a few feet away from our Jeep. We had dinner and breakfast at the house which was made by the hosts, and it was definitely among the best meals that we had in our week long stay in Sri Lanka. You will not find a better place to stay in Udawalawe.
Generosity is the first thing that comes to our mind when we think back to our stay at peacock Riverside. It is a family-run business and the owners were so very kind and helpful in every possible way. The location is perfect, the entrance to the Udawalawe National Park is just a 10-min drive away. The room was simple, clean and comfortable. Dinners were home-cooked, delicious Sri Lankan dishes.A very nice and memorable experience!
Everything was spotless, came on Friday to work for the afternoon and took the Safari at 5am the next day, the internet was great and they have a generator on site so power cuts were not an issue. Had dinner at the hotel which was delicious, special shout out has to go to Dushan Sandaruwan who was an absolute gentleman and made a great stay an amazing one! Will definitely be coming back if I ever come back to Udawalawe!
Beautiful quiet place near Udawalawe park. We arrived at 11am and did the afternoon half day safari with lunch which was arranged by hotel. Safari was amazing and guide was really helpful. After Safari we had a lovely swim in the pool and dinner in the restaurant. Really nice quiet rooms with AC and powerful showers. Breakfast was really good and big portions. Was a great place to between ella and Marissa.
We travelled Sri Lanka for 4 weeks with our 1 year old baby. This Hotel was the best!!! Its such a nice property, with little kids playground, awesome dining area, awesome pool, nice staff and awesome rooms! It was like paradise! It was clean, food was awesome, had drinks and dinner every day! It is close to Udawalawe National Park and you can book the tour organised by the hotel without hesitation!
