Good value safari driver arranged by the staff in the hotel ( tip. we paid the driver $40 for the driver, and bought tickets on arrival at the Udawalawe park entrance. you can pick up a local volunteer guide in the car park as you buy your tickets who can talk through the animals and park detail. we then tipped the guide around $10. The total for the 3 hour safari worked about $40 per person)

The room was HUGE, as was the bathroom. We had so much space, and a great view. A juice was provided on arrival which was a nice touch as well. The host was super helpful in organising a tuk tuk for us when we wanted to go visit our friends down the road. The location is only about a 5-10 minute drive from the park entrance, which is super convenient as well.

family is extremely friendly and welcoming. they organized some coconuts for us because we like them so much and stood up early to provide us with a packed lunch for the safari. Ganga cooks delicious meals and Niroshin is a safe driver whose taxi services we enjoyed.

We had a lovely stay at the Elephant Lodge. The staff were incredibly accommodating - they booked and organised our safari, prepared breakfast, lunch and dinner and always made sure we were happy and enjoying the stay. The room was very clean and the food was delicious! Highly recommend!

Located in a quiet area, it's a collection of cabins in the middle of the forest, with views across a green garden where I could see peacocks! A short walk to the Udawalawe Park entrance!
A large room with all the necessary amenities and a nice veranda to enjoy a quiet evening. Manager Harindi contacted me early to inquire about dinner and lunch preferences. Dinner was fit for a queen and breakfast was delicious. Most importantly, the two staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. I especially appreciated the little things: for example, they sent me a photo and text to let me know the room was ready the morning of my arrival!

Elephant lodge is great for an overnight stay so you can take a safari at Udawalawe National Park. Hotel staff were able to organise the safarai and make suggestions on the best time to do it . The property is in a quiet secluded location, with the cabins overlooking a reserve. Included breakfast was good quality and you are able to request lunch and dinner as well, as there is no restaurants or shops in the immediate area. Take any snacks, supplies and money with you if you need them whilst there. Overall, a pleasant relaxing stay and nice friendly staff :)

it is extremely close to the Nationalpark so the perfect place if your only staying in udawalawe for one night. the staff was very helpful and friendly and dinner was yummy. our room was nice - we had a nice view the balcony, a big shower, comfy bed and ac as well as a fan. we booked the safari tour with the hotel which was super easy. The guide was friendly as well and explained everything to us. we saw at least 20 elephants and 2 babies - it was a great tour!

I had a perfect stay here!!
I had a perfect stay here!! The staff go out of their way to ensure you have everything you need and even got fresh eggs and fruit when I asked for a meal!! It is clean, spacious and very comfortable! Great location, close to everything including bus station and supermarket! They also helped organize a great morning safari. I can't recommend staying here enough!!
Beautiful location on a small lake, great food, very friendly and helpful owners, small but clean rooms. And the owner Samantha is providing the best safari tours at Udawalawe National Park. Book an all-day tour with him, you will not regret it. We met many tourists doing a 4h tour starting in the early morning who haven’t seen a single elephant. We started later, but took our time and went deep into the park. At the end of the day we saw more than 50 elephants, 5 crocodiles and many other animals.
We loved our stay here and would highly recommend this place if doing a safari in Udawalawe. The rooms are large, clean, comfortable, and modern and in a nice jungle-like setting. Breakfast was good, and the Sri Lankan buffet dinner was fantastic! The owner was very friendly and helpful in organizing our early morning safari, and the price for the room and meals was very reasonable. We would definitely recommend Nature House and would stay here again. Thank you for a great experience!
Janaka gave his attention to every detail - there’s everything you could want in the room - from toiletries/towels/hairdryer to kettle/fridge/bottled water and aircon. Also games to play and outdoor seating. It was a prefect location for the fabulous elephant transit home and close to Udawalawe national park. Janaka provided wonderful food and organised our safari. He also provided us with the best driver, Mr Chandi, who also does tours at your request (+94 77 672 8106).
Awesome stay with loyal service! Quality from start to end was same and brilliant. Everything you could wish for, superb food - especially the breakfast, swimming pool, safari were very special. The concierge so helpful in booking airport taxi and We would never think of staying anywhere else next time we are in Udawalawe. I will recommend this hotel to anyone and hope to visit soon again for an adventurous safari!

Beautiful property and lovely people. Our promised room wasn’t available so Tirón gifted us with a delicious dinner our first night. Only 3 rooms, all of them comfortable and clean. Breakfast was tasty and huge. The Safari Tiron arranged was good. He also arranged a tuktuk to take us to Tangalle and this was the best driver we’ve had in 6 weeks in Sri Lanka!
We only stayed here for one night when we were doing the Udawalawe National Park tour. Very close to the park so great location (about 15 mins drive). Hotel arranged the tour and provided us with breakfast while on the trip as it was an early start. They also allowed us to use the rooms after we returned and had some lunch.

Wow! So far this hotel was our most beautiful place to stay in sri lanka! It is in the middle of the national park and the room was very large and beautiful. We liked the huge pool the best! The breakfast was delicious and so was our lunch and dinner! The staff was very courteous and they organized a great safari trip and a visit to the elephant orphanage.

Outstanding place to stay in Udawalawa. Dimu welcomed us warmly, prepared the best curries we’ve ever eaten (the best in Sri Lanka!), and helped us organize the Safari with Sumudu, which was helpful, and proactive when it came to finding animals in the Udawalawa National Park. Overall, a unique experience, highly recommended!
The room was very spacious! It had two large double beds, two sofas, and two bathrooms. The hosts were really nice and accommodating, and they made the best coconut pancakes for breakfast I’ve had in Sri Lanka. The beds were also very comfortable, I had one of my best night’s of sleep ever!

An incredibly helpful crew. They organized a safari for us, we got a welcome drink, drinks for the road..... pools are not 5 starts hotel level but we are in the wild, I loved it. Pool with fishes that eat the capsule. Restaurant without walls - amazing atmosphere at evening.
Perfect base for safaris to Udawalawe National Park. The hotel organizes excellent safari tours. After the safari, the entire evening can be spent in the river and the birdsong can be heard non-stop till around 6.30 pm. Dinner was excellent. Brilliant value for money.
