Good value safari driver arranged by the staff in the hotel ( tip. we paid the driver $40 for the driver, and bought tickets on arrival at the Udawalawe park entrance. you can pick up a local volunteer guide in the car park as you buy your tickets who can talk through the animals and park detail. we then tipped the guide around $10. The total for the 3 hour safari worked about $40 per person)

The room was HUGE, as was the bathroom. We had so much space, and a great view. A juice was provided on arrival which was a nice touch as well. The host was super helpful in organising a tuk tuk for us when we wanted to go visit our friends down the road. The location is only about a 5-10 minute drive from the park entrance, which is super convenient as well.

I absolutely loved my one night stay at Ravidu's Safari Lodge. The people were great and friendly. They helped me with any of my questions. Both room and bathroom are clean. The room itself was spacious and perfect for an overnight stay. Don't forget dinner: very tasty!
The safari they organized was great and we had a very friendly driver. I can totally recommend this place.

The hosts were incredible, really welcoming, helped us to organize a Safari last minute with them (really recommended but the way - not the tourist typical tour). The dinner and breakfast proposed were fantastic. Thank you so much for this night !

The owner er very nice and kind - he also offers safari tours in a jeep. He knows a lot about the animals and REALLY puts an effort in to it.
The food is delicious and huge portions.
You can see animals in the garden, sometimes monkeys and leguana. :-)

Ravindu (the manager/owner) was very welcoming and made me feel safe and comfortable. The room is spacious, modern and beautifully decorated. There is a unique and stylish outside area of the property that looks onto nature. Perfect for relaxing.
Out of all the places I stayed in Sri Lanka this was my favourite. Ajun also organised a safari for me for a fair price.
Breakfast is served at the property which was the best I had in all the properts I stayed in Sri Lanka. Lunch and dinner are also available for a very reasonable price and it was absolutely delicious 😋 😋.
Ajun really went above and beyond to make my stay a memorable one in Udawalawe without being invasive of my space.
I got to meet his mother and father and brother who were also beautiful, kind and caring people. ❤️ I feel like I have a family to return to when I return to Sri Lanka.

It was one of the best properties we stayed in Sri Lanka. We had very nice breakfast and buffet dinner, so it was both convenient and yummy to dine in the hotel rather than search something around.
The host also organized great safari for us ( actually the reason we book this place and came here). The jeep driver had a good knowledge of the safari park and took us off the beaten road, therefore we were not riding together with other groups and had the park for ourselves only. We got luck with enormous to see the whole elephant family ☺️
This hotel stay was AMAZING! A little oasis during our safari trips in Udawalawe! The pool was fantastic break from the mid day heat, the restaurant had delicious meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The room was LOVELY; bed was comfortable, and outdoor concept for the bathroom/shower, and the air con could be as cold as you wanted it! Monkeys live on or near the grounds so it was fun to watch them swing through the trees. Staff was so nice and accommodating! Would definitely recommend this hotel for a stay during your safari!
Beautiful tranquil location. The lodge is excellent, the rooms some of the best I had in Sri Lanka, the pool is nice and warm and perfect for a dip after a long day of Safari. The staff is excellent and will go out of their way to make you feel welcome and comfortable. The lodge also organized my private Safari, my guide and driver Nandu was excellent. I actually liked my Udawalawe Safari better than the one I did in Yala. It is less busy and except Leopards I saw more in Udawalawe than in Yala.
The safari was very good and we saw many animals. We thank the safari driver for doing his best for us during our safari. The driver gave detailed information about all the animals. I appreciate the owner of the apartment very much. He gave us a very good discount. We even checked the prices online.. We also went to Yale National Park and we highly recommend the Udawalawe Perk compared to that. Thanks for the driver number. We are both animal explorers.
Actually wonderful stay at this lovely little hotel. When we arrived we were pleasantly welcomed by staff. This place is very close to udawalawa national park. Our room was very clean with comfortable beds and bathrooms. The next morning we were served delicious sri lankan breakfast. While our stay was short and it was very memorable. We watched elephant's and many of birds...Great value for money. Just a few minutes walk to the Elephant Orphanage,
The hosts were amazing to say the least! They were so friendly and helpful. We went on a safari arranged by the host and it was spectacular! We saw at least 60-70 elephants, many of which were only a few feet away from our Jeep. We had dinner and breakfast at the house which was made by the hosts, and it was definitely among the best meals that we had in our week long stay in Sri Lanka. You will not find a better place to stay in Udawalawe.
Exceptional hotel in a superb location. This was the most comfortable hotel friends and I stayed in during our two-week travels around Sri Lanka. The high standards are evident everywhere. The decor throughout, the restaurant, pool area and rooms are high quality and cleanliness is obvious everywhere you look. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful or friendly. The hotel is so well situated for visiting Udawalawe National Park.
We LOVED this place! The rooms are fantastic. Super comfortable. Room has AC. The swimming pool was amazing but the best was the hospitality of the owners and staff. The food they prepared for us was such a treat. Three meal course for dinner of the most delicious Sri Lankan curry and three meal course for breakfast . It’s minutes from the national park. Amazing place! Everything is beautiful! The bungalow is really nice and clean. We were in the middle of the jungle in a calm et relaxing space. There's also a terrasse. The personal was really nice. We had a power cut in the village and they made everything to make sure we were comfortable! We only reserved one night, but we wished we could stay longer. It was the best hotel we had during our stay in Sri Lanka.
Nice place to stay a night to go on a safari in the national park. The room looked nice, had a small sitting area, a desk, and a water kettle. The AC worked. The bathroom was clean, hot water, great shower pressure. The Sri Lankan breakfast was delicious, with hoppers, fried egg, coconut sambal, and fresh fruit. The elephant transit home is a 10 minute walk away. The hotel can arrange the safari for you.

We only stayed here for one night when we were doing the Udawalawe National Park tour. Very close to the park so great location (about 15 mins drive). Hotel arranged the tour and provided us with breakfast while on the trip as it was an early start. They also allowed us to use the rooms after we returned and had some lunch.

The owner is a great guy with nearly 30 years of experience in the hospitality industry. He arranged a safari at Udawalawe National Park for us, as well as transportation back to Colombo. The food was delicious and not too spicy. Great location surrounded by a forest of teak trees. The place had a diesel generator for backup power during outages.
The staff is extremely friendly and always there for anything you might need. It is a perfect gateway to the Udawalawe National Park. The safari driver, who the hotel offers to book, is a very good animal tracker and sees lots of animals quickly. We also chose this hotel because we read very good recommendations about their safaris.
Outstanding place to stay in Udawalawa. Dimu welcomed us warmly, prepared the best curries we’ve ever eaten (the best in Sri Lanka!), and helped us organize the Safari with Sumudu, which was helpful, and proactive when it came to finding animals in the Udawalawa National Park. Overall, a unique experience, highly recommended!
The rooms were large and comfortable. The dinner offered was great! Some of the best food we’ve had in Sri Lanka. We opted to have our safari and transfers from Ella and to Marissa organized by the stay and everything was perfect. The pool was nice and warm and you can watch the bats fly around at night from the pool.
