The manager was very friendly, helpfull and always smiling. He arranged for us a wonderful full day safari . We spent a fantastic day!
The location is peaceful, near little river with lots of birds. Perfect for relaxing in a hammock. Nice room, fully equipped with everything you need. Beds are very comfortable.
The food was the bes the best we had in Sri Lanka. Dinner was absolutely superb and very delicious.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Kithala Thissa-Yala Resort, and it was an experience worth every moment. From the moment we arrived, the tranquil ambiance and stunning views of the surrounding paddy fields immediately set the scene for a relaxing getaway.
The resort itself is immaculate, with spotless rooms and well-maintained common areas. Its proximity to the main attractions is incredibly convenient, making it an excellent base for exploring the local sights.
What truly sets Kithala Thissa-Yala Resort apart, however, is the exceptional hospitality of the staff. A special shout out to Ayenaji and Surangi from the front desk, and Iresh, Janith, Gihan, Wathsala, and Pavindu from the restaurant for their outstanding service. Additionally, a heartfelt thanks to the many other sweet and most attentive hotel staff who went above and beyond to ensure that our stay was enjoyable. Their service was unmatched, combining professionalism with a warm, personal touch that made us feel right at home.

The bathroom needs exhaust fans as it can get quite stuffy . The resort manager Mr Upal is a nice friendly bloke and is exceptional in his service . Overall a very pleasant experience .

This is a great location to stay if you want to visit the national parks and My Village will organise safaris to the four parks in the area either a half or full day. The local town is not a tourist town but it's great to wander around looking in the local shops.

Was in Tissamaharama for Yala Safari, had booked the early morning Safari.
Disappointed with the Safari as there were very few animals except.for.peacocks and spotted dear.
Later into the ride our jeep driver and guide revealed we had entered through block 5 of the Safari and most the animals(Leopard, Bears) mostly are sighted in block 1 and 2.
Block 1 and 2 were closed that day, maybe just our luck.
So I guess check, with the Safari organizer before booking your safari as it quite expensive.
Basically disappointed ☹️

Very good base for safari to Yala or Bundala parks. I' went to Bundala as I've never been to park with big wetlands and I think it was a great choice. We've seen numerous types of birds, lizards, monkeys, jackals, mangooses, bufallos, crocodiles and also few elephants😊
I didn't stay in center of Tissa but still was able to find nice restaurants, like Smoky Kitchen (recommended).

The pool made everyone happy. It is quite spacious, has deep parts and overlooks the beautiful lake scenery. Thanks for sun-beds and pool towels, that is thoughtful. The room is spacious and has comfy beds. This was the only hotel during our trip in Sri Lanka to provide cribs for little ones. I would also like to compliment the shower located under the stars with a net protecting from insects. I didn’t experience any problems with hot shower, there was a plenty of hot water. The hotel helps to arrange safari in Yala.
Milshani is a host, who takes care for her guests. She organized all safaris for me in advance and each was worth the money. If it was leopards in Yala, elephants in Udawalawe or birds and crocodiles in Bundala, nature lovers will enjoy. The Sri Lankan food was exceptional, Milshani and her mother even gave me cooking lesson. The location of the homestay is away from the noise in Tissamaharama and I loved overlooking the rice fields from the veranda. Super homestay, super hosts. Would come again.
This is our favorite place we stayed in Sri Lanka! Even better than a lodge we stayed at for a private safari that cost us $200 a night! This place was PERFECT! The breakfast was my favorite, the pool was perfect for our son, and the family was so nice. I wish we could have stayed here much longer. We were so comfortable and could not have asked for a better time. I really wanted typical Sir Lankan food, and they went out of their wayt o make sure we had that. Best place ever!
Nice, quiet location, away from hustle and bustle of the city center. Owner Manju knows a lot about Sri Lanka, from his extensive experience as a tour guide. He can give great advice and helped us out at the moment our tuktuk broke down. Very good food. We booked a safari through the hotel, and it was a great experience. Good driver that knows how to find all the animals and really takes pride in finding them. We saw the leopard, elephants, elks, jackals, sloth bear and many more.
This is my second time in Sri Lanka and at Laa Safari Inn. This time we had a worm welcome. Clean room, good food. During power failures, they have a generator. That is very important to us.This time we got our safari from the hotel, and he is an experienced guide. So many animals, including three big leopards. Amazing. We got a little closer too. mush love. They also have a good exchange rate. We wish to come back again next time.

Bonfire night, cricket match with the staff, safari’s; were the most memorable nights in our 3 week stay in Sri Lanka. The food at this hotel is absolutely delicious. It was a highlight of my trip to Sri Lanka. They even arranged a safari for us, which was an incredible experience. There's a large lake nearby, currently brimming with water, so it's not advisable to swim due to the presence of crocodiles. However, the expansive garden offers a great place to relax and enjoy your time at the hotel.
Randy and his family were amazing host, the friendliest you can ever find in Sri Lanka, always willing to help and give attention. Food (both breakfast and dinner) were really tasty. Randy took us on his motorbike to visit the amazing landscape and lake around. We felt good from the very beginning and felt sad to leave such great people and souls.
We stayed in a lot of beautiful accommodations during our trip in Sri Lanka but this hotel takes the cake, it’s such an amazing place. The staff is the sweetest, every morning they clean the entire property and pool. The food is excellent, they also catered to our 3 year old who is a picky eater. Couldn’t be happier, 10 out of 10

Family owned, very friendly people. Got a recently renovated room that was very comfortable and probably the cleanest we've had all of our time in Sri Lanka. Accommodated our request for earlier breakfast. Cannot comment on swimming pool or food as we didn't try. We stayed just one night.
Our host was a wonderful cook. She packed breakfast for our safari at 5am. The several meals we had there were traditional Sri Lankan meals and were all lovely. The price is hard to beat. From the meals to the rooms we saved a lot of money staying here.
