We had a fantastic stay at Hotel River Front. The room was spacious and clean. The breakfast was lovely and the welcome drink was delicious. The staff were exceptional, they were so welcoming, helpful and friendly. The hotel booked everything for our Yala safari and we had a brilliant day. The pool was amazing to unwind after a busy day travelling the first day and after our safari the 2nd day! The hotel is well maintained and is cleaned by staff regularly. Couldn’t recommend this hotel enough.

An amazing location! Overlooking the lake where you can see water buffalo, crocodiles, frogs and monitor lizards. Very unique experience staying in the treehouse cabana. Would recommend to anyone staying in Tissa before Yala Safari. The host organised our safari with driver, entrance fees and food and drinks for the day sorted. Couldn’t have asked for a better driver on the day, we were lucky to see multiple leopards along with 3 new baby leopards very rarely seen in the park. 10/10. The host made us dinner the night before our safari which was also lovely.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Kithala Thissa-Yala Resort, and it was an experience worth every moment. From the moment we arrived, the tranquil ambiance and stunning views of the surrounding paddy fields immediately set the scene for a relaxing getaway.
The resort itself is immaculate, with spotless rooms and well-maintained common areas. Its proximity to the main attractions is incredibly convenient, making it an excellent base for exploring the local sights.

A special shout out to Ayenaji and Surangi from the front desk, and Iresh, Janith, Gihan, Wathsala, and Pavindu from the restaurant for their outstanding service. The location is excellent and the resort is real value for money . The food was excellent . The rooms were nice . The toiletries in the bathrooms needs to improve . The bathroom needs exhaust fans as it can get quite stuffy . The resort manager Mr Upal is a nice friendly bloke and is exceptional in his service . Overall a very pleasant experience .

This is a great location to stay if you want to visit the national parks and My Village will organise safaris to the four parks in the area either a half or full day. The local town is not a tourist town but it's great to wander around looking in the local shops.

Was in Tissamaharama for Yala Safari, had booked the early morning Safari.
Disappointed with the Safari as there were very few animals except.for.peacocks and spotted dear.
Later into the ride our jeep driver and guide revealed we had entered through block 5 of the Safari and most the animals(Leopard, Bears) mostly are sighted in block 1 and 2.
Block 1 and 2 were closed that day, maybe just our luck.
So I guess check, with the Safari organizer before booking your safari as it quite expensive.
Basically disappointed ☹️

Very good base for safari to Yala or Bundala parks. I' went to Bundala as I've never been to park with big wetlands and I think it was a great choice. We've seen numerous types of birds, lizards, monkeys, jackals, mangooses, bufallos, crocodiles and also few elephants😊
I didn't stay in center of Tissa but still was able to find nice restaurants, like Smoky Kitchen (recommended).

Mithila was a perfect host who couldn’t do enough for us. The room was impeccably clean and very big. The bathroom was also big and had a great shower. We had a large balcony area too which was good to sit out on. Mithila organised our safari and also ordered us dinner from a local restaurant, she also arranged our transport to our next hotel. Mithila made us feel so welcome and the room was beyond expectations. Our favourite stay in Sri Lanka! Thank you Mithila! Would recommend to everyone looking to stay in the area.
The pool made everyone happy. It is quite spacious, has deep parts and overlooks the beautiful lake scenery. Thanks for sun-beds and pool towels, that is thoughtful. The room is spacious and has comfy beds. This was the only hotel during our trip in Sri Lanka to provide cribs for little ones. I would also like to compliment the shower located under the stars with a net protecting from insects. I didn’t experience any problems with hot shower, there was a plenty of hot water. The hotel helps to arrange safari in Yala.
Sanjeewa and his wife are absolutely wonderful and incredibly loving hosts. The rooms are clean, spacious, and have a really comfy bed. The view of the rice fields is great. The Sri Lankan food they serve is truly delicious. If you plan to do the safari in Yala, book through him. He has an excellent driver with a great price. I would highly recommend this place to stay in Tissamaharama, especially if you want to visit Yala National Park. Thanks for the great stay!
Amazing breakfast. Exceeded out expectations. Sri Lankan and continental cuisine! The hotel also arranged our Safari and the driver and guide of the safari was exceptional. He always seemed to know where animals would show up. We saw so much wildlife! His driving made us feel so safe and his knowledge about the parks flora and fauna was utterly inspiring. Thank you sooo much driver for such an amazing experience. We can only highly recommend this young man!
This is my second time in Sri Lanka and at Laa Safari Inn. This time we had a worm welcome. Clean room, good food. During power failures, they have a generator. That is very important to us.This time we got our safari from the hotel, and he is an experienced guide. So many animals, including three big leopards. Amazing. We got a little closer too. mush love. They also have a good exchange rate. We wish to come back again next time.
The room was very large and exceptionally clean. The bed was comfortable and the shower was hot and had excellent water pressure as well. The hotels safari they organized for us was also excellent and yielded great results. The staff were so accommodating and kind. They also served the best food we had in Sri Lanka. And on top of it the WiFi was super fast. This was hands down the best hotel we stayed at in Sri Lanka.

The Hotel is a very clean one - except some gekkos and insects - but travelling Sri Lanka includes these things, so it does not matter!

The best service in Sri Lanka! On top of being a great host, he arranged a taxi for us from Ella to tissamaharama for over 2000rs less than the best prices in Ella. He drove us on several occasions around in his tuktuk, served freshly made curd, arranged great safari, made breakfast and arranged bus to our next stop ALL free of charge.

What a lovely place! The staff is amazing, and the food is yummy. We went fishing in the lake nearby in the evening and the hotel employees cooked and served the fish for us. Sri Lankan people are so hospitable, just like this hotel. They accept card payments, and our bill was reasonable. I highly recommend everyone to visit this place!
This place has one of the most stunning views we've seen while staying in Sri Lanka! It was so peaceful just sitting on our balcony watching the animals walk and fly by. The two guys taking care of the place were very professional, friendly and accomadating. The included breakfast was amazing too! Definitely worth staying here!
