Great Place to stay with a beautiful view and a nice, clean infinity pool with an amazing view of the surrounding landscape. The food was really good. The host was very friendly, attentive and went the extra mile to make our stay memorable. He showed us around his garden and cinnamon fields explaining about the different plants and harvesting techniques while letting us try fruits and spices. Generally the whole staff was very friendly, we really appreciated that!

Wow! The Backyard Balangoda is something truly special. Nestled in the family’s beautiful tea plantation, it is a stunning retreat designed and created by talented young artist Sumit. The accommodation is in a rustic style, immaculately clean and-frame bungalow with the most stunning views over the valley - an absolutely magical experience to stay in and wake up to. While this is totally off the beaten tourist track, it’s so totally worth visiting - we were only sad we didn’t have time to stay a few more days. If it’s available, book it!
