I had a very pleasant and comfortable stay at Kelaniya Heritage. The staff were excellent, always helpful and friendly, ensuring a great experience. The internet connection was strong and reliable, which made my stay even more convenient. The entire hotel was exceptionally clean and well-maintained. Well equipped apartment with all the necessities: a cozy bedroom, kitchenette, additional items such as salt & pepper, detergent soap, washing powder & liquids made the stay quite easier and quite comfortable. I really enjoyed all the facilities and extended my stay by another week due to the convenience of the location. This is my second stay at the Paramount Residence.

- Upon arrival in Sri Lanka we stayed here for the first two nights. It was perfect to kick-off our holiday and to have a relaxing start.
- The rooftop pool was great and very big, maybe just a bit colder than expected. But the jacuzzi had a very nice temperature and were perfect for longer relaxing.
- The complimentary city-tour organised by the hotel was great, gave a great overview of Colombo and was also not too long (ca. 3 hours).
- We also booked a trip to Sigiriya (Lion’s rock) with drop-off in Kandy afterwards via the hotel. It was a full day of travelling (ca. 7 hours of car drive) but our driver Duminda was very kind and friendly. Having just arrived in a new country, it was super nice to have someone taking such good care of you. We would highly recommend to ask for Duminda in case you’re planning to do a trip via the hotel. In terms of pricing, we also compared with costs on tripadvisor. The costs via the hotel were a bit more expensive but it was definitely worth it as we also drove in a nice and comfortable car with a safe driver.

I was looking for a relaxing 4 days after India and Pegasus certainly lived up to that.
I needed somewhere where everything was on hand which it was.
The room was spacious and clean.
I opted for the breakfast and evening meal option, I am glad I did as it’s was a real smorgasbord for the money paid and well worth it with soooo many options.
I was a little reluctant to try out the fish restaurant on site initially for lunch as I know from past experiences they charge like a wounded bull !
How wrong was I , good value for money for what was on order and the service first class.
A really nice experience was had and to top it off finding a marvellous taxi driver named Jude who was amazing and still calls me for a chat now, god bless him.

Kelaniya is a quiet suburb of Colombo, located on the Divine Kelani Ganga River. The most significant aspect of Kelaniya is the Maha Raja Vihara, the sacred place where Lord Buddha stayed and delivered sermon on Dharma, and the sacred Kelani Ganga where Lord Buddha took bath. It is a 2,500 year old Stupa and temple with an equally old Bodhi Tree, which create a deep spiritual vibration at the place. Lord Buddha's relics are also preserved in a temple here. It is often visited by some of the most devotional monks and householders here. The campus also hosts a temple dedicated to Lord Vibhishana.
There is also a small temple to mark the point where Lord Buddha took bath in the Holy Kelani Ganga river. The river front offers a very peaceful and beautiful scene, for meditation, worship, relaxation and nature love.
There is another ancient temple on the other side of the river, which some say is the original 2500 yr old temple, which can be reached by a ferry.
Besides this historical & spiritual place, there is nothing much to see around. Kelaniya is otherwise a heavy vehicle maintenance hub. It has all ATMs and supermarkets. But, limited food options. Only a few good restaurants and eateries near the Mahavihara. Sri Vihara is the best for vegetarian foods. Sunisa take away & Balasooriya North Indian are the best for non-veg.
