The hotel is small and cozy located right on the beach. The size of the room is generous and they were cleaned well. We had some amazing food at the restaurant: banana pancakes, fruits, curd, lobster with seafood, kottu. The attention and services the staff gives is unparalleled in all my travels - they will give you flowers when you make photos, escort you to car at 4am, run to give you umbrella or help with moving sun beds. I loved the turtle beach where 4 turtles could be seen morning and evening in the water.
I also had the fortune to be in Hikkaduwa when the baby turtles were hatching and witnessed when they were released in the evening around sunset.
The sunsets in Hikkaduwa are really unreal.
The water is quite clear and so hot. What else can you want from a beach town.
I personally spent most of my meals at the Hungry Bug. They offer a great selection of local food and some western food too. Everything is fresh and cooked on the spot.

The area had a good mix of shops, bars etc and prices were reasonable. You can choose to stay in central higher end hotels or cheaper options on the periphery but tuktuks only cost about 700rps from one end to the other. Perhaps 1500rps in the evening.
We preferred staying outside the main area because it was much quieter but so easy to walk into town along the beautiful beach.

Lots of choice of food available from vegan/vegetarian (steffi mandala) amazing noodles and a good chilled vibe on the beach or probably the best sea food restaurant unfortunately road side was Bambinis look it up, food is excellent and a very good price. We'll stocked supermarkets. A good accommodation choice either beach or jungle.

Hikkaduwa is good and easy, very tourists friendly for friends, families and couples. Opportunities to snorkel, surf, swim and relax on the beach. There is also big techno parties on some nights and they will make too much noise through the night but it is just on night time to time.

it is a very nice place for several days if you want to relax on the beach or do some surfing. There are many surfing schools for all levels.
the beach is also very nice and clean, the water is tansparent, some people say the waves are too big, but if you swim a little bit further - it just absolutelly ok.
Great location directly on the beach with private garden, beach and sunbeds. The hotel is located about 1 km from the city center what makes your stay even better. The rooms are with sea view. The staff very friendly. We were unexpectedly few hours before our scheduled check in and could still promptly get the room. Also because our flight back was late we could use the garden the whole day after check out and get the shower before leaving Hikkaduwa. The hotel has also own restaurant wirh very good sri lankan food, seefood, coctails.
- The location is one of the best to feed turtles and snorkelling. Safe Parking provided.
- The breakfast was so good with a wide variety. The hosts were very nice to us and made us feel safe and homely.
We were with kids and Mr. Amal and the owner were very helpful and was looking at ways to serve us at the best of their ability.
Highly recommend this for a family or couple stay and experience the truly humble Sri Lanka hospitality. Wish them all the best.
The staff were fantastic, the staff at reception, Ireshu and Vijith could not have been more helpful, the waiters in the restaurant Kushan and Madusha were brilliant, and Chef Sunil was extremely attentive. All of the staff were always smiling. Lucky Elephant is a beautiful modern boutique hotel, stylishly furnished and spotlessly clean. It is in a great location on the beach. I would highly recommend this hotel to any friends lucky enough to visit Hikkiduwa.
Great hotel in good location at quieter end of Hikkaduwa. Good to have the pool as the sea can be challenging here ( it is calmer a few hundred metres along the beach towards Hikkaduwa). Free loungers with towels on the beach. Our poolside room was very well furnished with plenty of sockets and large good quality bathroom. Food and drink very reasonably priced. Good breakfast and coffee. Best of all were the staff who are all very friendly and helpful.
This is a great place to stay at near Hikkaduwa, the garden is amazing and the house was clean and spacious with everything necessary for comfortable stay. The pool is also great and it is also possible to barbecue in the garden. The communication with owner was easy and he is very helpful. Overall I would say it was one of the best stays during our 2 months in Sri Lanka and definetely huge value for money, highly recommended!
First I like the location, it's only 5 minutes away from Hikkaduwa beach and 10 minutes walking distance from Turtles beach.
Second thing I like about this place is they have really affordable food options for you. You can eat Lunch and Dinner at very reasonable price. And they do laundry service at very good rates.
The owner and his family are very nice and they will help you if you need anything.
This is a great find. very well located yet away from the main highway noise. Didier, the host was super helpful and our evening conversations were always entertaining and full of laughter. The breakfast is one of the best we had in Sri Lanka. The rest of the staff is also amazing. It was really warm when we were there so the pool was a welcomed addition. We really enjoyed our stay, and the room with a big balcony was very nice and clean. The hotel is placed a bit from Hikkaduwa center, but that was only an advantage. The beach is really beautiful and big, and the pool area is really nice. The staff was a bit slow, and the waiting time for the food was a bit too long. However, we had a really great time!
Family owned hotel was direct at the beach with the rooms facing the sea. Great hospitality. The view from the room it’s 5*.

Next to the hotel is amazing picturesque beach where you can swim. To Hikkaduwa you’ve got around 3-4 minutes drive by Tuk tuk.
The space is just magical. You'll feel like you're in a private luxury jungle with an incredible view and pool. You can stay here for days indulging in complete relaxation and pleasure. The hosts are super attentive and don't forget to ask for an Sri Lankan breakfast, they are excellent cooks.

This was one of my favorite stays in Sri Lanka. To start off, Sunil and the rest of the staff are the most professional, helpful and accommodating staff that I’ve seen in Sri Lanka. The property itself is beautiful , clean, and very cozy.
Sanjeewa and his family who run the hotel are the most lovely and kind people I have met in Sri Lanka, they really give everything to make sure you have a comfortable and safe stay with them. Really really recommend!
