We spent 2 weeks traveling around Sri Lanka and this was our favorite place to stay. It was an incredible room with high ceilings, AC, ceiling fan, clean bathroom, great location, amazing food, and an amazing host. We were able to do our laundry there as well. The location was perfect for safaris as well as Sigiriya Rock and Dambulla. Did I mention how great the food was? Don't hesitate to stay here. It's a special place.

The resort is beautiful, situated inside a forest with only a few very cool places te sleep. The sleeping buildings were clean, comfortable and big. Sitting ont he porch of our ‘room’ we could see a lot of animals in de forest, especially birds. The staff was very nice (and even made a special breakfast take-out for us when we wanted to get up early to see the sunrise!).

We loved Jaye Eco Lodge. The family are super helpful, arranging all activities for us and also drove us to the center of town or for activities at very reasonable prices. We loved the breakfast and also bought all of our dinners there, which were a highlight of our trip. The garden is great for birdwatching and wildlife and you can walk a few minutes to see a couple of elephants at work and some rice paddies. The room was comfortable and spacious, with a nice shower (hot water was available but we never used it). It is a ways from the center, but what we most enjoyed was probably just the friendly, comfortable, and tranquil vibe.

We, a family of 5 (Kids aged 9,5&4), spent two exciting nights at the Mutu Village.
We were welcomed very warmly by the hotel manager Sameera, with whom we already had some great communication thru WhatsApp prior to our arrival. Sameera is an extremely friendly, open-minded person and great to chat with. He and his team took great care of us throughout our stay. We never missed anything and we always felt very welcomed.
As we had just climbed the Pidurangala (must-do!) we were all starving. When I asked for the menu the two guys serving us put up a BIG smile and told us that there was no menu and dinner would be a surprise. And in fact, it was a big surprise when we saw the big pots with fried rice, kottu, dhal curry and chicken. It was very delicious and we ate more than we probably should have. Especially, as there was still dessert to come.
Breakfast, served in a big basket, was fantastic, too: Egg hoppers, sweet bread, toast, a variety of other local specialities and a fruit platter - more than one could possibly eat.
The whole village is in the middle of the jungle with a beautiful, clean pool surrounded by air-conditioned tree houses. Our house was very clean and the mosquito nets over the beds very welcomed by most of the family as there is quite some wildlife going on. The outdoor bathroom was fun, and is to be shared with some other species.
We loved our stay here and we highly recommend it for anyone ready for a little adventure. Thank you Sameera and team for being incredible hosts.

Wonderful discovery in Sri Lanka. Everything was perfect.
Wonderful discovery in Sri Lanka. Everything was perfect.
I was absolutely charmed by the 2 nights spent at Villa Habarana.
In the middle of nature, Villa Habarana is a peaceful place. The staff is attentive, smiling and deeply human, ready to fulfil your wishes within their villa.
The rooms are spacious, clean and air-conditioned, opening onto a private terrace with a coffee table and wooden armchairs.
The wifi is very fast, the cooking with the products of their garden is divine. I loved their rice and curry and their fruit juices.
In short, everything is taken care of to perfection from A to Z and revolves around a beautiful pool sheltered by frangipani trees.
I advise all those who will stop in the region of Habarana to contact them so that they can welcome you. You won’t be disappointed !
A happy traveller.

Great place to take family.
Great place to take family. Good elephant and monkey viewing. Interpretation skills weak with cultural assets and history. Ok food in area but mainly in accommodation providers. Others experiences not well advertised - nature trails, endangered birds, lagoon rides, local cuisine.

If you are going be sure to book through Gamini from Nature Travels at Trinco blue, Trincomalee!
He and his local guide Lokka Mali Nishante are the best guides you can find! They are so lovely and relaxed, and know of all the elefants habits so we got to see so many of them; small and big, and its all happening in their natural and peaceful surrounding! We were there i february when the elefants are in ECO park.

Minneriya and Kawudulla are important sanctuary parks we wanted to travel. However, we were able to travel only Hurulu Eco Park (because of rains this season) that which also gave us pleasure with the time available.
It is only one hour to Pollonnaruwa from Habaran where we saw the ancient kingdom
Food around Habarana was good with Lake Fish became favorite in our family
I have no words to describe how magical this place is. I checked in after 930pm, it was simply magical. I woke up by 0530( thank god I did) the sound of nature and the sunrise was breath taking. My favorite part was the shower, never in my life had I seen something like it. Breakfast was delicious and filling. A must book for the experience. Not a 5 star hotel, more like a unique experience in heaven. Priceless if you ask me!
Sameera, thank you for your hospitality. Everyone held a smile 😊 at all times.
you can not go wrong with this well managed hotel. rooms are convenient and very clean. the included breakfast is realy good and kalhara is a smart host and gives any help with safaris, renting scooter, transport to or from his location. especially when you arrive by train a quick transport can be arranged by telling kalhara as soon as you know your estimated arrival time. best idea for me was renting i scooter. but you can walk to the village just 800m away. i can recommend the place.... thx
We loved our stay at Bissa Villa. It is a beautiful garden oasis in the jungle, full of butterflies and monkeys; a quiet, sun-soaked environment to relax in. The hosts are lovely and genuinely caring. The pool is super refreshing on hot days. The room and the bed were big and comfortable; air conditioning, TV, and fridge were all great. Highly recommended stay for visiting the cultural triangle. Only a few minutes by tuktuk to Habarana Junction for restaurants and shops.
I recently stayed at Dudley Nature Resort in Habarana and had an amazing experience. The owner of Hotel were incredibly friendly and went out of their way to ensure my stay was comfortable and enjoyable. The location of the hotel is also great, and easy access to all the attractions in Habarana . The rooms were clean and well-maintained, I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a great stay in Habarana Thank you, Dudley for making my stay so memorable!
The resort is a wonderful place, located near Habarana. It was our first stop after arriving at Colombo airport. The host and his lovely family did everything they could to make our stay comfortable. The traditional Sri Lankan breakfast and dinner was excellent and freshly cooked by the host’s wife. It is a lovely hideaway with lovely hosts. A perfect place to calm down or to start your journey on the island, plan a safari or hike to Sigirya or Pidarangula rock.
The architecture of buildings, the sprawling estate and landscaping was a pleasing experience.
The dining room, set in an open room was beautiful;
Food, both for breakfast and dinner was a great experience, wide selection both international and Sri Lankan. The food station chefs were a great help.
Swimming pool was clean and set in a scenic area.
The rooms were spacious, interior decoration beautiful, and the housekeeping made it absolutely clean and nice.
Amazing vibes! Feels so good to be at the place where everyone cares about you - providing for unforgettable experience of visiting local area. Hotel staff assisted us with all the arrangements: delicious food, laundry, dropping to excellent SPA and transportation to Sigiriya/Dambulla by tuktuk. They took us for jungle safari by jeep as well - which my son enjoyed a lot. You can count an comprehensive support here and let yourself relax a while :)
Sungreen resort is an excellent place for a stay with calm relaxation the services are excellent and staff also very kind very helpful and friendly
This hotel is easily the most comfortable and cost effective place to stay in habarana The rooms were very good and well maintained Food was super delicious This is a recommended place for a family vacation as plenty of activities can be done around the hotel
Amazing stay in this quiet gem in Habarana. I was met by Priyan at the train station, he was very flexible because my train was delayed for 5 hrs. From then on, he helped me arrange every aspect of my trip. Gave me advice on where to go, arranged a safari and even hooked me up with a friend of his in Tangalle. I ended up staying a few more days than originally planned because it felt like home to me.
We loved the Sapphire Garden Hotel. Clean, comfortable rooms, lovely swimming pool and grounds, fantastic freshly cooked food, great location for exploring Sigiriya area, many species of birds and wildlife but most of all fantastic hosts. Wanda and Leo were so welcoming. Nothing was a problem.
Incredible jungle property. The staff organised a massage and safari, both which we highly recommend, making it really easy for us. Prices of safari were lower than other areas of Sri Lanka. Food was a set menu but was excellent for all meals.
Good place. But they are playing with prices. For me via booking.com, it showed Rs 5100 only. But they charged RS 6500. Told several reasons. It's disgusting. I won't recommend this place to anyone.
The rooms were clean, very comfortable, and the staff was amazing. They went over and beyond to help make our stay enjoyable. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Habarana.
Note, this is not a 4/5-star hotel or so, but the atmosphere is so special that it really felt like home to me.
Addition to that meal is so delicious.
